STREETS International

Founded in 2009 and based in Hoi An, Vietnam, STREETS is a comprehensive and fully-supported 14-month culinary and hospitality training program.

Disadvantaged and vulnerable youth living in poverty are chosen to participate in this no-cost program. Each Trainee participant is provided classroom instruction with hands-on experience in the culinary arts and/or hospitality services, nutritious meals, supervised housing, clothing, uniforms, an active community, monthly allowance, and basic medical care.

culinary, hospitality and English language training program at no cost to participants
- Apprenticing experience including at the acclaimed STREETS Restaurant Café and Oodles of Noodles Center
- Meals, housing, clothing, uniforms and monthly allowance
- Comprehensive recreation and wellness program

- Health examination and basic medical care
- Outstanding job placement rate with ongoing career support

� Who can apply
- Age: 17-22
- Education level at 6th grade literacy or relevant life skills knowledge
- Disadvantaged and vulnerable youth living in poverty, resident or sponsored by an orphanage or community agency, out-of-work and needing support
- Strong interest in restaurant, hotel or tourism careers
- Motivated to learn English
- Must complete the STREETS application including a Recommendation Letter and Certified Residence documents

We’re excited to announce Jamie Sweeting as a STREETS Global Awards Judge.

With over 30 years of experience in tourism, conservation, and community development, Jamie Sweeting is a recognized global leader in responsible travel and social enterprise.

Jamie’s career includes senior roles at Royal Caribbean Cruises, and Conservation International, where he helped shape global standards for sustainability and environmental stewardship.

As President of the Planeterra Foundation and Vice President of Social Enterprise & Responsible Travel at G Adventures, Jamie leads efforts to scale community tourism and embed social impact into the heart of the travel industry.

Under his leadership, Planeterra has become a leading nonprofit using tourism to uplift communities worldwide. Planeterra is also a key supporter and partner to STREETS Oodles of Noodles cooking demonstration and dining experiences. We know first-hand the impact that his organization has on enterprises such as ours.

Jamie joins a panel of global experts in tourism, hospitality, and social enterprise for the STREETS Global Awards – bringing his passion and deep expertise to recognize and support changemakers in hospitality and tourism.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐒’ 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. It is how we reach disadvantaged, in-need, and geographically isolated youth who may not otherwise access professional hospitality training.

Our recruitment process combines field outreach, partner referrals, direct applicant support, and structured screening to identify youth who are the right fit for the STREETS program.

With Teamtailor, our new Trainee recruitment platform, we can manage applications, communication, and follow-up more effectively — helping us better connect future Trainees with life-changing training and career opportunities.

Meet Martha Prybylo, one of our carefully selected award judges.

Martha brings over 30 years of experience building and leading internationally focused workplaces and philanthropies with values-driven leadership models.

She holds an M.P.A. and a B.S. in Gerontology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and serves as Executive Vice President of the Alnoba Lewis Family Foundation.

Early in her career, Martha helped launch and then lead the Grand Circle Foundation – giving back globally to the people and places touched by Grand Circle Corporation. She later oversaw People & Culture as Grand Circle grew from 500 to 2,000 team members across 31 offices on six continents, earning a Best Places To Work in America Award.

Currently, Martha directs the Lewis Family’s philanthropy, which has invested over $260 million in 500+ projects across 70 countries, supporting 30+ partners on the front lines of environmental and social justice.

A passionate advocate for values-based leadership, she co-created and leads the Alnoba Leadership Awards, recognizing moral courage, Indigenous leadership, environmental stewardship, and gender equity each year.

Martha joins a panel of global experts in tourism, hospitality, and social enterprise for the STREETS Global Awards.

As a longtime leader at Union Square Hospitality Group, Mark helped shape some of New York’s most celebrated hospitality ventures – always with a focus on team culture, guest experience, and long-term impact.

Now through Maynard Consulting, he empowers hospitality entrepreneurs to elevate performance across the customer journey, employee experience, and ultimately business results.

A Cornell graduate, Mark serves as Entrepreneur in Residence at the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship, Cornell University. He guest lectures at Columbia University Business School and New York University – sharing his insights with the next generation of hospitality leaders.

Co-author of The Next Frontier of Restaurant Management, Mark’s expertise will be invaluable as we celebrate hospitality changemakers from around the world in the STREETS Global Awards.
