Cambridge International School in Da Nang/Hoi An, Central Vietnam for children from 2-16 years Teaching faculty are primarily native English speakers.

Green Shoots International School (GSIS) is a co-educational, English-medium day school catering to children from 2 to 16 years old, preparing to launch a programme for 16 to 18 year olds. We were established in 2011 by an alumni of the United World College movement, a global group of schools dedicated to peace & sustainable development, from which we have
developed many of our values and ethics.

GSIS was the first international school in Hoi An, the second in central
Vietnam. All are highly qualified and experienced professionals. GSIS is the first & only member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) in central Vietnam - working towards
accredited status. A member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) since 2015 & Hoi An’s first authorised Cambridge Exam Centre in 2016. GSIS students are passionate, independent, lifelong learners who strive for personal best & are responsible global citizens.

Please give a warm welcome to Mr Mat, our certified Canadian Ice Hockey coach! With extensive experience working with children and holding safeguarding and first aid certifications from Canada, Mr Mat is ready to inspire our students in the field of Health and Physical Education. 🏒

Aggie là một nhạc sĩ có tiếng trong cộng đồng, chuyên về sáo và thanh âm. Với nhiều năm kinh nghiệm dạy nhạc cho trẻ em, cô sẽ mang đến nhiều kiến thức và chuyên môn cho học sinh trường chúng ta. Chúng tôi rất nóng lòng chờ đợi học sinh của mình được hưởng lợi từ tài năng và niềm đam mê âm nhạc của cô ấy! 🎶

⚽ Thể Dục Thể Chất - thầy Mat
Xin gửi lời chào nồng nhiệt đến thầy Mat, huấn luyện viên Khúc côn cầu trên băng người Canada đã được chứng nhận của chúng tôi! Với kinh nghiệm sâu rộng làm việc với trẻ em và có chứng chỉ an toàn và sơ cứu từ Canada, thầy Mat sẵn sàng truyền cảm hứng cho các học sinh của chúng tôi trong lĩnh vực Giáo dục Sức khỏe và Thể chất. 🏒

This week, our Year 1/2 group kicked off their unit on the Super Human Body with a special visit from our local pediatrician, Dr. Jeremy.

They started with a knowledge harvest, where the children showed Dr Jeremy the poster they made with what they know about the human body and questions that they had prepared. Dr. Jeremy provided insightful answers and engaged the kids in a lively discussion. 💡💭

To make things even more fun, we had a hands-on activity where the children got to explore how our bodies work. Using Paul, a human body dummy, they identified organs and placed them in the correct positions. 🧠🫀

Dr. Jeremy also brought along some specialised equipment for the kids to try out. They took turns listening to their own heartbeats and breathing through a stethoscope. They even used a pulse oximeter to measure oxygen levels in their blood! 🩺💓 But the excitement didn't stop there! The children also had a chance to use an otoscope, a cool tool that helps examine the condition of the ear canal using a beam of light. And they even got to peek into Paul's throat and ears using an endoscope camera! 👂🔍

This engaging entry point activity has given our little learners a solid foundation of ideas, concepts, and knowledge to build upon throughout this unit. 📚🧠

Tuần này, học sinh Lớp 1/2 của chúng tôi đã khởi động bài học về Cơ thể Người với chuyến thăm đặc biệt của bác sĩ nhi khoa địa phương, Tiến sĩ Jeremy.

Các em bắt đầu với phần thu hoạch kiến thức, trong đó các em cho Tiến sĩ Jeremy xem bảng kết quả mà các em đã làm với những gì các em biết về cơ thể con người và những câu hỏi mà các em đã chuẩn bị. Tiến sĩ Jeremy đã đưa ra những câu trả lời sâu sắc và thu hút các học sinh vào một cuộc thảo luận sôi nổi. 💡💭

Để khiến mọi thứ trở nên thú vị hơn, chúng tôi đã tổ chức một hoạt động thực hành để các em khám phá cách cơ thể chúng ta hoạt động. Sử dụng Paul, một hình nộm cơ thể người, họ xác định các cơ quan và đặt chúng vào đúng vị trí. 🧠🫀

Tiến sĩ Jeremy cũng mang theo một số thiết bị chuyên dụng để các em dùng thử. Họ thay phiên nhau lắng nghe nhịp tim của chính mình và thở qua ống nghe. Họ thậm chí còn sử dụng máy đo nồng độ oxy trong mạch để đo nồng độ oxy trong máu! 🩺💓 Nhưng sự hào hứng chưa dừng lại ở đó! Các em còn có cơ hội sử dụng kính soi tai, một công cụ hữu ích giúp kiểm tra tình trạng ống tai bằng chùm ánh sáng. Và họ thậm chí còn có thể nhìn vào cổ họng và tai của Paul bằng camera nội soi! 👂🔍

Hoạt động mang tính thu hút này đã mang lại cho các học sinh nhỏ của chúng tôi một nền tảng vững chắc về ý tưởng, khái niệm và kiến thức để xây dựng trong suốt học phần này. 📚🧠

👻 Halloween was a blast and we hope everyone had a spooktacular time! 🎭

🎉 We want to thank everyone who participated and showed off their amazing Halloween spirit. We were impressed by all the creative costumes! 👻🧙‍♀️🧛‍♂️

🍬 Our in-school activities were a hit, and we hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween-themed games, crafts, and treats. We even had a few surprises along the way! 🎃🍭🎨

Check out what these creative and ambitious kids did last week! They discussed their future careers and even got to dress up as their dream job. They drew and painted the clothes they would wear, created a lanyard with their job title and company name, and some even made equipment for their chosen profession.

It's inspiring to see the next generation so excited about their future. Who knows, as it looks like we might have a firefighter, doctor, artist, policeman, or even a vet in the making!

Hãy xem những đứa trẻ sáng tạo và đầy nhiệt huyết tuần này đã làm gì! Họ thảo luận về nghề nghiệp tương lai của mình và thậm chí còn ăn mặc như công việc mơ ước của họ. Họ vẽ và sơn những bộ quần áo họ sẽ mặc, tạo ra một chiếc dây buộc có chức danh công việc và tên công ty, và một số thậm chí còn chế tạo ra trang thiết bị cho nghề nghiệp mà họ đã chọn. Thật cảm hứng khi thấy thế hệ tiếp theo rất hào hứng với nghề nghiệp tương lai của họ. During this week's Professional Development Day, our staff updated their knowledge and skills on safeguarding procedures and culture. The amazing Dr. Jeremy What's up baby doc led a first aid training session in accordance with our CIS membership. It was an excellent opportunity for all our staff to learn and refresh their first aid skills, ensuring the safety of our students throughout the school. 💪

🍂 Autumn term 2 is just around the corner! After the training, our staff reviewed and planned many new exciting events. It will be a busy term filled with fun activities! 🎃🎄⚽

This day benefited our staff and ultimately will enhance the learning experience of our students. Thank you again for your continued support. 🙌

Trong Ngày phát triển chuyên môn tuần này, nhân viên của chúng tôi đã cập nhật kiến thức và kỹ năng của họ về các quy trình và phương pháp bảo vệ an toàn. Tiến sĩ Jeremy đã hướng dẫn một buổi đào tạo sơ cứu theo tiêu chuẩn các trường với tư cách thành viên tổ chức CIS của chúng tôi. Every year on 20th October people in Vietnam celebrate “Ngày phụ nữ Việt Nam” - Vietnamese Women’s Day.

An old Vietnamese saying “Giac den nha dan ba phai danh” - “When the enemy is at the gate, the woman goes out fighting.” shows that the role of women in Vietnam has long been linked to the struggle for independence.

On October 20th, 1930, Vietnamese women supported by the Communist Party of Vietnam, united against imperialism and formed the organisation later known as the Vietnam Women’s Union. Since then, Vietnam celebrates this day to honor the organisation and Vietnamese Women.

Mỗi năm vào ngày 20/10, Việt Nam tổ chức ngày Phụ Nữ Việt Nam để tôn vinh các chị em.

Ngày xưa có câu " Giặc đến nhà, đàn bà cũng đánh" để nói lên vai trò của phụ nữ Việt Nam trong giai đoạn đấu tranh cho hoà bình, độc lập.

Vào ngày 20/10/1930, phụ nữ Việt Nam dưới sự hỗ trợ của Đảng Cộng Sản Việt Nam đã thống nhất chống lại chế độ phong kiến và thành lập tổ chức mang tên Hội phụ nữ Việt Nam. Từ đó, cứ vào ngày này, Việt Nam tổ chức ngày lễ tôn vinh hội và toàn thể phụ nữ Việt Nam.

We had a wonderful International Week celebration at GSIS!

Throughout last week, students learned about different cultures and celebrated diversity. We discovered that even though we come from different backgrounds, we have a lot in common. It was a great opportunity to learn from each other and appreciate our differences.

We finished the week with a small celebration - it was lovely to see teachers and parents come together and learn more about each other. Thanks to all the parents who brought in delicious food from their home countries. . We hope to have more events like this in the future to continue strengthening our community.

We're proud to be a school that values global-mindedness, and we're grateful for the support of our parents, who make events like this possible.

Chúng tôi đã có một buổi lễ kỷ niệm Tuần Lễ Quốc tế tuyệt vời tại GSIS!

Trong suốt tuần, học sinh đã học về các nền văn hóa khác nhau và tôn vinh sự đa dạng. Chúng tôi phát hiện ra rằng mặc dù mỗi chúng ta mang một dòng máu khác nhau nhưng có rất nhiều điểm tương đồng. Đó là một cơ hội tuyệt vời để học hỏi lẫn nhau và đánh giá cao sự đa dạng giữa các nền văn hóa.

Chúng tôi kết thúc tuần bằng một lễ kỷ niệm nhỏ, ấm cúng - thật tuyệt vời khi thấy giáo viên và phụ huynh cùng trò chuyện và tìm hiểu thêm về nhau. Cảm ơn tất cả các bậc phụ huynh đã mang đến những món ăn ngon từ quê hương mình. Chúng tôi hy vọng sẽ có nhiều sự kiện như thế này trong tương lai để tiếp tục củng cố cộng đồng của mình.

Chúng tôi tự hào là một ngôi trường coi trọng tinh thần toàn cầu và chúng tôi rất biết ơn sự hỗ trợ của phụ huynh, những người đã biến những sự kiện như thế này thành hiện thực.
