Are you passionate about cultural exchange and eager to showcase your writing skills? Look no further! We are excited to announce an essay competition hosted by Bloom & Grow, a renowned educational organisation promoting cultural exchange.
Here are the details you need to know:
💡 Eligibility:
The competition welcomes students between the ages of 7 and 18. Participants aged 7 to 9 will be tasked with creating a poster for Round 1, while those aged 10 to 18 will be required to write an essay.
💡 Topic:
* Poster (age 7-9): How to save to environments (POSTER)
* Essay Topics (age 10-15): "Unlocking Your Potential: How Education Can Change Your Life." (ESSAY)
* Essay Topics (age 16-18): "Why Cultural Exchange is Important." (ESSAY)
💡 Requirements:
* POSTER:
- Title: Creating an Impactful Environment - Saving Poster: Simplified Instructions for Round 1 Scholarship Application for Bloom and Grow Summer Camp
- Understand the Purpose:
Know the purpose of your poster: to showcase how to save the environment. Understand the scholarship requirements and any guidelines provided by the camp organisers.
- Research and Gather Information:
Research environmental conservation from reliable sources. Gather tips on renewable energy, waste reduction, water conservation, reforestation, sustainable transportation, etc.
- Organise Key Points:
Choose the most impactful tips. Create a clear title and outline the main subtopics or tips you want to highlight.
- Design Layout:
Choose an appropriate poster size. Keep the design clean and uncluttered. Use a grid system for structure. Ensure readability with legible fonts, clear headings, and sections. Use relevant visuals and a colour scheme that aligns with the environment.
- Design Elements and Content:
Create a captivating title. Provide a brief introduction on the importance of saving the environment. Organise information into sections or bullet points. Use visuals like images, icons, and infographics. End with a motivating call to action.
- Proofread and Finalise:
Proofread for errors. Review design, layout, and readability. Seek feedback from others. Save your final poster in a high-resolution format.
💯 Remember, simplicity and clarity are key for an impactful poster!
* ESSAY:
- Essays must be original and written in English.
- Length: The essay should be between 100-300 words.
- Format: Typed in 12-point font, double-spaced, and submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format.
- Deadline: Make sure to submit your essay by the specified deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
💡 Judging Criteria:
Essays and posters will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Originality and creativity
- Writing style and grammar
- Adherence to the topic
💡 Scholarship Award:
In addition to securing a spot in Round 2, the author of the best essay will also be eligible for a discount of up to 100%.
💡 Disqualification:
Any participant found to have violated the rules or engaged in academic dishonesty will be disqualified from the competition. No usage of Ai allowed.
💡 Intellectual Property Rights:
All essays submitted become the property of Bloom & Grow and may be used for promotional or other purposes.
