🎅🎅Christmas is a time of sharing, gratitude, and togetherness. At our school, the Christmas Exchange Gift is a special tradition that brings us to celebrate the joy of giving and receiving.

🎁🎁More than the gifts themselves, this activity reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas—kindness, thoughtfulness, and appreciation for one another. Each carefully chosen gift reflects effort and care, creating smiles, laughter, and heartfelt moments.

❤️❤️For students, exchanging gifts encourages generosity and friendship. For teachers, it is a meaningful opportunity to connect with colleagues in a warm and joyful atmosphere. Through this simple yet meaningful activity, we strengthen our school community and create lasting Christmas memories.

🎄🎄May this Christmas Exchange Gift celebration fill our hearts with joy and remind us that the greatest gift of all is sharing love with one another.

TO SEE, TO DREAM, TO BELIEVE

What better way to bring in the Yuletiede season than with a celebration filled with love, faith, and Thanksgiving: our Christmas Cantata 2025, Joseph the Dreamer!

Early in the cool morning, the air was already buzzing with excitement since a lot of families took time out of their busy schedules to experience as the students experience the joy of sharing their talents. Similar to Joseph, our student performers not only worked endless to give a stunning performance but also believed that their talent could make a difference. Our lovely choir also played a big role in setting the joyous and festive atmosphere with songs like "Every Praise," "In Christ Alone," "I Raise A Hallelujah," especially with a surprise twist during the finale song "Praise" wherein the Filipino teachers sang several of the verses in Vietnamese. Every song that was sung and every tole that was performed reflected countless hours if hard work, creativity, and dedication.

After the performance, everyone partook in the meal prepared by our kitchen with well-known Christmas staples such as ribs, ham, fruitcakes, fresh juice and many more! Being in the presence of the different members of our community, sharing ideas, and expressing gratitude brings to the spotlight the age-old message that Christmas is not found within the cost of the gifts that are bought, the quality of the clothes that are worn, nor the luxuriousness of the feast prepared. Christmas can be found all around us wvery day of the year theough giving without question, caring without hesitation and sharing joy without boundaries.

Merry Christmas from the STEPS Family!

THE BOUNTY OF THANKSGIVING

As the year came to a close, the students and teachers of STEPS gathered in the spirit of community and Thanksgiving. The young students of the JS Casa and Primary levels joyfully played the "Turkey Tail Pull". Some students swiftly pulled and removed the length of paper from the cardboard turkey while others concentrated hard to make sure that the paper didn't tear.

The bigger kids of the Intermediate and Pre-Vocational levels joined the fun of healthy competition with the winders of Science as they used magnets designed as turkeys to complete a zig-zag maze! There were fast turkeys , slow turkeys, and in their excitement, some magnet turkeys even walked outside the zig-zag lines. Everyone gathered together to share a hearty meal after the games. The fun of playing games, the friendships between students that were made, and the full bellies were a perfect way to give thanks and gratitude for the year that has gone by.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

STEPS TURNS 8!

The celebration of the 8th Foundation Day of STEPS Special Center held at Casa Grande began with smiles and friendly faces, setting a cheerful tone for the rest of the activities. The venue was decorated with colorful balloons, streamers, flaglets, banners and handmade crafts, creating a festive atmosphere. New families who had just joined our growing community and old families who have become pillars of the school came together during one of the highlights of the day – the team games! The first game, Ball Relay, was a true example of harmony amidst diversity as children of all ages played as a team. Excitement, laughter, and a little bit of friendly competition was surely one way to make the event livelier. The children were not the only ones in the spotlight as the parents and guardians played a game of their very own – Pass the Hula Hoop. The supportive parents, siblings, and caregivers playfully took on the challenge of passing a hula hoop through a chain of people without breaking contact. Our little kids were delighted to see their parents play and eventually win! These activities not only brought everyone closer but also showcased the diverse talents and skills within the school.

When the games were finished, everyone enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the school. Everyone gathered to enjoy the food and spend time with friends and family. After they had eaten, the children all had a blast in the wide open play area of Casa Grande that boasted climbing wall, an underground rope tunnel, a jungle gym set, a swing, and even a quiet area with stuffed animals and books for a calm corner to sit in after the children used up all their energy running around and playing together. The hearty meal, the colorful and playful ambience of Casa Grande, and the company of one another made our event one for the books.

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Nghiem Hoang and the Casa Grande team for their exceptional efforts. Their passion, creativity, and collaborative spirit have been important in the success of our event. Outstanding service, friendly and accommodating staff, and a child friendly environment especially for children with special needs all at Casa Grande!

STEPS 8th Foundation Day was more than just a celebration; it was a testament to the power of harmony and diversity. By coming together and celebrating our unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives, we created a stronger and more inclusive community. May this serve as a reminder that unity in diversity is not just a goal but a reality that we can achieve every day.

CELEBRATION OF MID-ATUMN FESTIVAL
Mid-Autumn festival has been celebrated every year in our school. This year, the teachers decorated the hallway with an array of vibrant colors with the center of the full moon, which symbolizes unity, family reunion and completeness, and include lanterns, mooncakes, and symbols like lotuses. Consequently, this is the main reason why the festival is thought to be important. Giving thanks: To give thanks for the harvest, or for harmonious unions through activities like giving mooncakes to each other.

The teacher delivered the story about Mid-Autumn entitled “Banyan Tree” is a Vietnamese legend about Cuội. The students were very excited and participated during the story telling.
In addition to this, the teacher prepared the cooking activity with the students by making a jelly. The students started to pour the gelatine into the mooncake molder with different designs and vibrant colors.

Lastly, the students tasted the mooncake with different flavors, both sweet and savory.

One of the busiest summer mornings at STEPS started with a visit to Jump Arena. The spacious area opened with a ball pit where our students were able to carry and fling around as many plastic pool balls as they can. There was also a kid's maze that they thoroughly enjoyed. They crawled or walked up an inflatable staircase to reach the starting line of the maze. Inside were multiple obstacles and features that allowed the kids to flex and stretch their large muscles and put their hard-earned gross motor skills to good use! Some kids climbed up and down the foam rock and rope net wall, other students rolled down the inflatable slide back to the ball pit, while the braver students accompanied by their teachers finished the maze. The trampoline area was where the students flocked towards next, and they even had small contests to see who could jump the highest! There was a bridge above an even larger pit that was filled with foam squares and all the children took turns trying to cross the bridge without falling over the side and into the foam pit! Some students fell down the bridge halfway but with enough encouragement and cheers from their friends and teachers, all the students were able to finish the bridge-crossing game and earned everyone's praise and applause!

As a cooldown activity, the students also walked through the Dinosaur JPark. Life-sized moving animals and dinosaurs covered the first room, and the fake treese, grass, and flowers were painted with glow-in-the-dark neon paint that caught the attention of everyone as they walked through it. Excited hand and fingers attempted to touch and grab some of the decorations but the students were all remindedthat it was safe and fun to look but not to touch. Aside from the dinosaurs, the artificial park also contained life-sized jungle animals, ranging from a giraffe, a bear, a tiger, a lion, several parrots, horses and deer, scary snakes, as well as a massive gorilla! It was an opportunity for the students to showcase their rich vocabulary and their knowledge on Science as some students would call out the names of the animals and made the correct animal sounds as well! There was also an artificial waterfall that the students could interact with, artificial fog that covered the ground and even jungle-themed seats and benches where they could sit, rest, or spend time with their peers. Everyone was a little sad when it was time to go but the students and staff all gathered together to take cool and fun photos at the entrance before saying farewell to a fun and eventful morning at Jump Arena and Dinosaur JPark!

PARENTS EDUCATION TRANING PROGRAM 2025

We had our very first training program for parents on how to handle and how consistency makes a difference in the lives of their children. The parents and nannies were very participative during the game. We reviewed the policy of the school, new anecdotal report also has been discussed.

For the training we divided them into three categories:
- Why the kids throw things during table top activities and what are the strategies to address the behavior
- Developing asking for help with children with special needs
- Understanding the behavior - practical tips for home support.

After the training, we received good feedbacks from the parents.

JUMP FOR JOY

The school headed to Jump Arena, our students were thrilled when they saw the huge trampoline area, playground, and the wall climbing. Each of them choose where to jump since they were many trampoline to choose to. As the student takes a leap, they displayed joy and excitement as they bounce. The students kept on coming back and it seemed that they were not tired. The teachers take pleasure in it as they jumped and engaged with our students.

Jumping is a powerful sensory activity. Children with sensory processing challenges frequently feel calmer and more focused after a jumping session. The up-and-down motion stimulates the vestibular system—which controls balance and movement—and provides deep pressure input to the joints and muscles through proprioception. These two sensory systems help kids understand where their body is in space and regulate how they respond to the world around them.

Jumping is more than just a fun activity—it’s a powerful exercise for kids. The benefits of jumping support a child’s body and brain, encouraging them to move their bodies, regulate their energy, and build essential skills for growth and development

John 15:11 “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”

NATURE’S TRANQUILITY

Summer ends, our last adventure for this year as we went to huge park wherein there were trees, flowers, huge space to run, fly kites, and rolling on the green grass. The students enjoyed and had a great time going on a different area of the park. They went for a slide, use climbers, swing, and park amenities. Our students were calmer, full of joy, and experienced God’s wonderful creation as they felt the fresh air, heard the birds chirping, saw the beautiful flowers with the vibrant colors of each petal, and the green scenery.

Nature offers a profound sense of tranquility, providing a sanctuary from the stresses of modern life. Its beauty, from the gentle rustle of leaves, fosters a feeling of peace and connection with something larger than ourselves. This tranquility can be found in various natural settings, each offering unique opportunities for rejuvenation and reflection.

Psalm 104:24-25 "O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. Yonder is the sea, great and wide, creeping things innumerable are there, living things both small and great."
