Happy Women's Day to all the beautiful ladies of the world 🌹
If you're living in Saigon and want to experience a taste of Japanese culture, drop by these two Japanese neighborhoods 🇯🇵
🌸 “Little Tokyo" is located right in the heart of District 1 on Le Thanh Ton and Thai Van Lung street. There you can visit plenty of authentic Japanese restaurants, shops, spas, and bars in an easily walkable maze of alleys. It’s fun to explore, just be careful not to get lost!
🌸 A newer “Japan Town" located near Pham Viet Chanh street in Binh Thanh district is smaller than the “Little Tokyo" area. Most of the restaurants there only popped up within the past few years, but the experience is still worthwhile. The Omakase Sushi at Sushi Kiyota and izakayas (Japanese bar and grill restaurants) like Izakaya Torisho and Ateya are definitely worth a trip!
🤔 Have you ever been to these places? Share with us if you have any experience exploring them!😉

1️⃣ Tính tiền!
Say this when you want to ask for the check at a restaurant or check out at a store.
2️⃣ Thanh toán (formal)
This phrase is mostly used by staff at hotels or banks where they have to be polite and professional.
🔴 Chị muốn thanh toán thế nào? = How do you want to pay?
🔴 Chị thanh toán bằng tiền mặt được không? = Can you pay in cash?
3️⃣ Trả tiền (informal)
This phrase is more casual/ conversational.
🔴 Để em trả tiền. = Let me pay.
🔴 Anh trả tiền chưa? = Have you paid?
🤔Have you ever misused any of these phrases? If yes, please share with us your experiences. 😉

Why learn Vietnamese when everybody around you speaks (a little bit) English?
🧐 Living and working in Vietnam, you’ll realize that Vietnamese people speak some English, but the experience can be completely different if you know some Vietnamese! 😉
👫🇻🇳 Learning Vietnamese helps you expand your relationships with the locals. It's never a bad idea to gain more friends, and don't you want be a good and respectful neighbor?
😎 If you like traveling, in areas where not many people can speak English, the Vietnamese language comes in pretty handy. "Where's the nearest gas station/ ATM/ motel/ pharmacy?"
🛵 Being able to understand signs on the street has never been proven to be inconvenient.
💼 If you run a business in Vietnam, though your staff can speak English well, speaking Vietnamese will help you earn huge respect from them. For sure! 🤗
👉 Then why not give it a go? We are always here to help you! Message us right now! 😉

On the first few days of the new year, there are things Vietnamese people do and avoid doing so that good luck can be brought to them. Do you know what we should and shouldn’t do during Tet? 🤔
✅ Greet people by saying this simple phrase: Chúc mừng năm mới (Happy New Year)
✅ Give lucky money to people especially the elderly and children when visiting them. The lucky money should be put in red envelopes which people call "bao lì xì" 🧧
✅ Eat “bánh chưng” and candied fruits (“mứt”). Don't miss out on these must-try traditional foods for Tet holiday
✅ Wear clothes in bright colors. When in doubt, go red! 😉
🔴 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐍𝐎𝐓:
❌ No sweeping. Vietnamese people think that using a broom is an act of sweeping out money.
❌ Don't argue or say bad words. Vietnamese people always avoid languages and actions that bring misfortune.
❌ Don't wear fully black or white clothes when visiting a Vietnamese family as these colors are believed to represent death.
❌ Don't break glassware as it is believed to bring bad luck to your new year.
