Sunday 5th June 2022 - Certified First Aid training including CPR and AED
2 class options - Certified course or standard course
Certified course: This course is made up of 2 sections:
Section 1 - requires participants to complete online study material prior to taking part in the workshop. This consists of watching a number of online videos and answering related questions. Participants usually take around 3 hours, studying at their leisure, to complete this section. A link to your personalised study material will be emailed to you upon full payment.
Section 2 - participants are required to take part in the 3-hour workshop. This workshop will allow participants to practice what they have learned by taking part in a number of practice scenarios. This is when the real learning takes place! Topics include Cardiac arrest treatment (CPR & AED), choking, drowning, control of bleeding, anaphylactic shock, and asthma followed by practice scenarios. There will be lots of hands-on activities so be prepared to get involved!
Following the successful completion of the course, you will receive an official certificate from The American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). This is internationally accepted and valid for two years.
Option 2 - standard course: Participants are required to take part in the 3-hour workshop. This includes gaining first aid knowledge and also putting this into practice. Topics include: Cardiac arrest treatment (CPR & AED), choking, drowning, control of bleeding, anaphylactic shock and asthma followed by practice scenarios. There will be lots of hands-on activities so be prepared to get involved!
Following successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of attendance from Fitzpatrick First Aid Training.

Call 911 immediately. Be ready to describe the snake to emergency personnel.
Keep the person calm and still, with the bite area lower than the heart.
Wash the wound with soap and water.
Remove jewelry (e.g. rings and watches).
Contrary to popular belief, you shouldn’t apply suction to a snakebite.
