December 2013 - Nam My/VAPS’ Working Visit of University of Texas High School (UTHS)

Starting 2013- 2014 school year, Nam My/VAPS has implemented a new curriculum known as Bilingual High School Program (BHSP) in which the core subjects in the Vietnamese high school curriculum are taught in English. BHSP students can choose to receive either American or Vietnamese high school diploma. Students with adequate English proficiency can join BHSP to eventually receive an American diploma issued by UTHS.

On Dec/5/2013, Principal Thuy To met Ms. Diane York, the new academic advisor at UT High School to discuss the suitability between two curricular contents, BSHP and UTHS. The outcome of the discussion confirms that BHSP students on the American high school diploma track will be able to receive the UTHS diploma upon completing all requirements at Nam My/VAPS.

The outcome is a successful one because it provides favorable opportunities for BHSP students to transfer to further their education in the U.S.

A cooperation agreement between Lutheran South Academy and Nam My/VAPS.
Lutheran South Academy (LSA) is a private school in Houston, Texas that offers grades 1 through 12. Numerous Nam My/VAPS students have transferred to, completed the high school education and received high school diplomas from LSA. Parents of former Nam My/VAPS students who study at LSA are very satisfied with the very high visa success rate and its quality of education.

On Dec/6/2013, Nam My/VAPS and LSA signed a cooperation agreement in which Nam My/VAPS is a partner who will prepare students to meet LSA’s stringent admissions requirements. Nam My/VAPS is now officially responsible for proctoring the admissions aptitude test named ISEE and assisting students/parents in meeting all other LSA admissions requirements.

Along with the signed agreement, Nam My/VAPS also develops a network of host families that are willing to provide home stay in Houston for its students.

Nam My/VAPS Principal’s trip has created additional favorable conditions for parents in sending their children to the U.S. for further education.
