Feeling tired and exhausted has become a common experience in today's fast-paced world. Many of us are struggling with fatigue and sleeplessness on a daily basis. But did the rise of chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) catch your attention? This physical and mental disorder leaves us feeling constantly exhausted, even after resting. Sleep specialist Sammy Margo attributes this increase to our hyperconnected, stress-filled lives that lack sufficient sleep. But don't lose hope just yet. Nutritionist Dr Rohini Patil suggests that while there may be no cure for CFS, a well-balanced diet can help manage symptoms and boost energy levels. So, let's prioritize self-care and fuel our bodies with nourishing food to combat fatigue and regain vitality.

Did you know that grapes are also good for our eyes? A recent study conducted by researchers from the National University of Singapore has revealed that eating just a few grapes a day can improve our vision, especially for older individuals. Dr. Eun Kim, the lead researcher, emphasized the significance of this finding, stating that it is the first study to show the beneficial impact of grape consumption on human eye health. This is particularly exciting considering our growing, aging population. Additionally, grapes are easily accessible and can be a great alternative for those who aren't particularly fond of carrots. The study, published in the journal "Food & Function," involved thirty-four adults who participated in a series of experiments over a 16-week period. Half of the participants consumed one-and-a-half cups of grapes daily, while the other half ate a placebo snack. It is worth noting that the participants and researchers were not aware of which group was testing the grapes or the snack, as this would potentially bias the results. The study found that individuals who consumed grapes experienced improved muscle strength around the retina - the part of the eye that transmits light signals to the brain. This is particularly noteworthy as the retina protects the eyes from damaging blue light, which is commonly emitted by computer and smartphone screens, as well as LED lights. So, next time you're reaching for a snack, consider grabbing a handful of grapes to not only satisfy your taste buds but also boost your eye health!
