UNDER ONE MOON — ONE COMMUNITY, MANY TRADITIONS!

This morning, Renaissance International School Saigon came alive with the joy and spirit of the Moon Festival as students, parents, teachers, and staff gathered to celebrate culture, tradition, and community.

Dressed in colourful traditional costumes, families captured special moments beneath the sparkling lanterns and enjoyed an exciting lion dance welcome. The celebrations continued with wonderful performances by our Primary and Secondary students, featuring traditional songs and dances from cultures around the world. Each one beautifully brought our theme, “Under One Moon", to life.

Families also enjoyed traditional games and delicious festive foods, creating many opportunities to connect, share, and celebrate together.

A heartfelt thank you to our parents for generously contributing traditional dishes for the Renaissance community to enjoy. Your kindness made the occasion even richer and more meaningful.

We are also deeply grateful to our Event Committee, our students, teachers and staff for the time, energy, and creativity they dedicated to bringing this special celebration to life.

Finally, thank you to every member of the Renaissance community who helped make this event so joyful and memorable. Wishing everyone a cosy and happy Moon Festival with your loved ones!

Different traditions. Different cultures. One community, celebrating together under one moon.

Our Year 2 chefs chopped, rolled, and assembled their way to wellness by making healthy sushi and sandwiches in class!

Leading up to the big culinary day, students became thinkers as they carefully prepared shopping lists, categorising their ingredients into 'Grow' (proteins & dairy for growth), 'Glow' (fruit and vegetables), 'Go' (carbohydrates for energy), and 'No' food groups.

Bringing their fresh ingredients from home, the children stepped into the classroom ready to collaborate with their partners. Demonstrating the IB learner profiles of communicator and caring team members, they worked together in small groups, sharing tools, helping each other chop their ingredients, layering their fillings, and encouraging their peers.

When it came time to taste their colourful creations, the students truly proved to be risk-takers, eagerly trying new ingredients, textures, and flavour combinations they hadn't experienced before. It was a fantastic hands-on celebration of healthy habits, teamwork, and culinary adventure!

RENAISSANCE MOON FESTIVAL 2026
"UNDER ONE MOON" - One Community. Many Traditions.

On Friday, 25 September, from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m, we warmly invite you and your family to join us at Renaissance for a special morning of celebration, culture and community.

This year’s theme, “Under One Moon,” reflects something very important about our school. We may come from different countries, cultures and backgrounds, and we may celebrate in different ways, but we are all part of one Renaissance community.
Throughout the morning, there will be wonderful student performances, traditional games and crafts, delicious food, and plenty of opportunities for families, students and staff to come together and enjoy the spirit of the festival.

We would also love to see families wearing traditional clothing from their own culture, or simply something festive for the occasion. It would be wonderful to see the many cultures within our community represented and celebrated.

Most importantly, this is an opportunity for us to spend time together, celebrate our diversity and enjoy everything that makes our community so special.

We very much hope you can join us, and we look forward to celebrating with you Under One Moon.

WELCOME TO OUR FIRST UNIVERSITY FAIR OF THE SCHOOL YEAR!

Renaissance students and parents were welcomed to our Mini University Fair this week, where 11 university representatives joined us on campus. The event offered attendees the opportunity to explore a range of study-abroad pathways, with a particular focus on universities in the United States and Austria. Some of the participating institutions included the University of Oklahoma, The Ohio State University, Stony Brook University, the University of Connecticut, the University of Houston, and Webster Vienna Private University.

Through conversations with representatives, students were able to gain insight into academic programmes, campus life, admissions requirements, and the opportunities available after graduation. It was a valuable chance to ask questions, gather first-hand information, and begin imagining the exciting possibilities for their future studies.

On 15 September, Dr Neil Hampton and Dr James Whitehead from Rugby School Group joined Mr Tuyen Nguyen of Khai Sang Corporation and Andy Roberts, Head of School at Renaissance, for a conversation with our parent community about the exciting next chapter for our school.

The session provided an important opportunity to talk openly about the partnership, explain what it will mean for Renaissance, answer questions and, most importantly, listen to the thoughts, hopes and perspectives of our parents.

As Renaissance moves towards becoming Rugby School Saigon in August 2027, there is much to look forward to. The partnership will build upon the strengths, successes and character of the school we know today, while opening up new opportunities for our students, staff and wider community through our connection with the Rugby School family.

This is a journey we want to take together. Our parents and wider community will continue to be informed, involved and, as always, at the heart of our school as we look forward with confidence and excitement to the next chapter in the Renaissance story.

Announcement: Renaissance International School is joining the Rugby School Group

Today, we are proud to announce that Renaissance International School Saigon will join Rugby School Group, becoming Rugby School Saigon from August 2027.

Led by Rugby School, founded in England in 1567, Rugby School Group is one of the UK’s most respected educational families. Rugby is one of Britain’s historic Great Nine schools, alongside Charterhouse, Eton College, Harrow School, Merchant Taylors’ School, St Paul’s School, Shrewsbury School, Westminster School and Wi******er College—nine institutions recognised for their influential role in shaping British education.

Renaissance will become the Group’s eleventh member, joining Rugby School Thailand, opened in 2017; Rugby School Japan, 2023; Rugby School Nigeria, 2025; and Rugby School Dubai and Rugby School Hanoi, both opened in 2026—alongside Rugby School and four preparatory schools in the UK.

Together, these schools form a growing international family spanning the UK, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Each school retains its own character while benefiting from Rugby’s shared educational expertise, investment, collaboration and global outlook.

This new chapter will build upon everything that makes Renaissance the school it is today: our strong community, our commitment to the International Baccalaureate, our culture of care and the people who know and support every student.

The partnership will create new opportunities for shared learning, professional development and cultural exchange. Through connections and student exchange programmes across the Rugby network, our students will gain greater exposure to cultures, communities and experiences beyond Vietnam.

This new chapter will strengthen students’ preparation for university by broadening their international outlook, aspirations and understanding of higher-education opportunities around the world.

Since its founding, Renaissance has been guided by one enduring conviction: that education changes lives, and that every child deserves an equal opportunity to a quality education that allows them to reach their full potential. That belief now finds clear expression in Rugby’s simple but comprehensive ethos:

“The Whole Person is the Whole Point.”

This is not about replacing Renaissance. It is about adding to something already special—protecting what our community values, building on our success and creating an even stronger future for our students, staff and families.

The best of Renaissance. The strength of Rugby.

A New Chapter. An Extraordinary Future.

CELEBRATING STUDENTS' SUCCESS

(Please click on each photo to view details of students' achievements)

This year, Renaissance students have achieved remarkable success on the international stage, and we are delighted to share these achievements with you. They reflect the hard work and dedication our students bring to every competition, from months of preparation to the focus and composure needed to perform in front of a global audience.

World Scholar’s Cup Global Round: the World Scholar’s Cup is an international academic tournament combining written challenges, collaborative writing, team debate and a live quiz bowl. Reaching a Global Round is no small feat in itself, teams must first clear a regional round, and regionals alone draw tens of thousands of students worldwide before a Global Round place is even awarded.

Renaissance sent scholars to three Global Rounds this year. Across these rounds our students earned 11 medals and finished 9th globally among more than 300 senior teams, and two of our teams have now qualified for the Tournament of Champions, held every November at Yale University. Qualification for Yale is highly selective, with only the strongest performers from each Global Round invited forward, so having two teams progress is a standout result for the school.

Our students also gained remarkable success in other global competitions, winning 2nd Prize in the NTU Global Link Event, competing against students from Singapore, Japan, Mongolia, China and other countries, as well as achieving a Silver Medal in the SASMO (one of Asia’s largest maths Olympiads with over 700,000 entrants from 50+ countries), and the SIMOC (a global Olympiad drawing 2,285 students from 40 nations that combines individual problem-solving with team rounds).

None of it would be possible without you, our parents, who make these opportunities happen by getting your children to events across the region and beyond. From Shanghai to Seoul, Singapore to Yale, this is a shared achievement between our students, our families, and the wider Renaissance community. Well done to all involved.
