All students were encouraged to wear pink clothing and/or mismatched socks as a symbol of solidarity and workshops were organized in each class to raise awareness about this topic. 📣
This event marks also the beginning of our dedicated education on this important issue, which will be extended to our moral and civic education classes. 📚🎓

🌟 Wrapping up an incredible Taste Week at La Petite Ecole! 🍴
From testing their culinary skills to discovering a world of flavors, it was a week packed with foodie adventures for all our students! 🍳
Our CM2 students had a blast competing in the Taste Contest alongside their peers from other primary schools 🏆 Under the guidance of talented chefs, our students immersed themselves in the art of crafting chocolate, exploring diverse tastes, and even turning recipes into math problems. 📐✏️ And guess what? One of our team clinched a top prize! 🌟 We couldn't be prouder of them and of all the students who participated!
But that's not all! Throughout the week, our students from Early Years and Elementary school engaged in various food-related activities, from cooking banh mi or pizza to crafting pasta from scratch. They learned about the fascinating process of food transformation and even got hands-on with pasta machines. 🥖🍝
In addition, our little food enthusiasts explored the world of taste, identifying the 4 key flavors: sweet, salty, sour, and bitter. 🍋
Some classes also had the chance to embark on flavorful journeys, including a visit to Marou Chocolate to unravel the secrets of chocolate-making. 🍫
We're proud to provide our students with this enriching experience, which isn't just about food; it's a pedagogical journey that nurtures our young minds to encompass creativity, exploration of the senses and cultural appreciation. 💯 🤩

Today, this is our last book recommendation by our librarian Thanh-Vân as the back-to-school period is coming closer 🤩
Today, our recommendation is illustrated 100% locally: La Belle au bois dormant, by Charles Perrault, illustrated by Khoa Le, published by NuiNui. ✨👸🏻
You're probably familiar with this traditional tale in which a young girl stung by a spindle falls asleep for a hundred years. The curse can only be lifted by the arrival of a prince who wakes her up and the whole country that has fallen asleep with her. The originality of this large, beautiful album lies in the refined, graceful illustrations by Vietnamese illustrator Khoa Le. Her magnificent illustrations, printed on silver leaf, are a real immersion in the wonderful world of the tale. For ages 8 and up. 🙌
Graduated of the Fine Arts University in Ho Chi Minh City, where she lives and works, Khoa Le has published ten books, including four as an author, and illustrated several works by other authors. Take advantage of this book to introduce your children to the work of a local artist: https://www.khoaleartwork.com/ 🇻🇳
Have a nice reading! 📖💯
Check out our little athletes! 🏃♂️🏃♀️
At La Petite Ecole, we believe in the virtues of sport for the healthy development of children, not only for their health but also for the development of their cognitive capacity, their social skills, their sense of team spirit and their self-confidence! 💯💪
That's why at La Petite Ecole, our nursery, early years and elementary school students do sports every day as part of the French national education program: motor skills for the youngest and various outdoor sports for the older children! ⚽️🏀🏹🥊🏊🏽♂️
La Petite Ecole also organises sports events throughout the year to stimulate our students even more: a charity run with the whole school community, sports meetings with other schools in HCMC or Olympics between students! We are fervently working to develop sport and its values of solidarity to all our students through numerous projects! 🤩🙌

To continue with our book recommendation during the summer, today Thanh-Vân, our librarian, would like to let you discover the book: Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories, by Dr Seuss, Random House Books for Young Readers 🐢
"Yertle the turtle was king of the pond. A nice little pond..." But what happens when you want to be an increasingly powerful king, and the other turtles don't all agree? Dr. Seuss's cheeky, rhyming, musical style is always a delight for parents to read, and a joy for children to listen to. For ages 4 and up. 🙌🥳
If you would like to listen to the story, click here : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tbwwrUa4288 👈

French curriculum but also, French way of life! 🇫🇷🥐
At La Petite Ecole Ho-Chi-Minh, our teaching team teaches throughout the year the French national curriculum 🙌 But French excellence is not only about pedagogy and curriculum, it is also about immersing yourself in a culture and learning its habits and customs 👀 And when you think of France, its culture and its gastronomy, who doesn't think of the pastries that go with it? 💯🥐🍪
At La Petite Ecole, we offer students an introduction to pastry-making as an after-school activity, taught by a French pastry chef 👩🏼🍳 Students have the opportunity to learn how to bake biscuits and cakes using simple recipes that they can then reproduce at home for their parents’ greatest delight! 🤗

To continue with our book recommendation during the summer, today Thanh-Vân, our librarian, would like to let you discover two books! 🥳
The first one is Assez grand pour aider la planète, from Loll Kirby, illustrated by Adelina Lirius, Glénat Publishing.
In this documentary album, twelve children tell the story of how they have taken concrete action to help the planet 🌏 Vincent in France has set up a collective garden to eat local products, Adeline in Indonesia is restoring water forests, Shalise in Australia is collecting rubbish on the beach with her friends... All these good ideas will inspire your children. There's no age limit to taking action, and it's good to know! For children aged 8 and over. 💪
You can browse an extract from the book here: https://www.glenat.com/sites/default/files/liseuse/9791026403067/index.html
The second book is Pourquoi les orangs-outans n'aiment pas le dentifrice, by Emmanuel Figueras, illustrated by Tristan Gionn, published by La Cabane Bleue 🐵
The title may seem surprising at first, but that's exactly the angle chosen for this book, which deals with ecological issues through thought-provoking questions: "Are goldfish happier in the river?", "What pieces of the world are there in a games console? Buying this book is both a way of raising children's (and adults'!) awareness of environmental issues and supporting a publishing house with strong ecological values (eco-designed books, printing in France) 🙌 From age 8 upwards.
If you wish to discover La Cabane Bleue:

A wild expedition to discover nature ! 🌿
Last week, our CM1 and CM2 (Grade 4 & Grade 5) students went on a school trip to Cat Tien National Park. In association with the Ta Lai Adventure organization, the aim of this outing was to reconnect the students with nature ⛰️, discover the different ethnic minorities of this region 👩🌾 and develop key life skills by doing adventurous activities like bamboo rafting, jungle treck or kayaking ! 🛶
Our students really enjoyed the experience and made memories that will last a lifetime! 🎉💯
It was also a real pleasure for La Petite Ecole to organize such school trip : La Petite Ecole is committed to offering its students the opportunity to experience new and culturally enriching experiences outside of school, but always surrounded by our caring community. 🙌

🔔Christmas countdown: book recommendation by students part 3
📆 Friday 23rd December
📖Dog Man : For Whom the Ball Rolls / Dav Pilkey
Arthus, Raphael and Minh Anh recommend this book !
The dog man chases the thieves but always get hypnotised by the ball, so little Petey has an idea. They made some cards that they showed to Dog man. He needs to concentrate or he will take a bath (he hates baths). There is also 80-HD, he is the robot and also the friend of little Petey and Dog man, they go on a mission to stop some burgle balls.
💬 You should read this book because it is funny, suspenseful and full of action . There is the main character (Dog Man), the criminal (Petey the cat), the friendly character (little Petey). In my opinion, I love this book because Dog Man is an action book but what I like in it how it drawn and the writing is long and detailed . I recommend this book .
Enjoy :D Merry Christmas
