We are delighted to share with you the fruits of labour from our haiku project, a joint initiative by all our La Petite Ecole schools in Singapore, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh – an idea by our librarian Marie-Pierre! An art originating from Japan, a haiku is a poem made of 17 syllables that is broken up into 3 lines in the order of five, seven, and five syllables. Our little poets had fun forming the haiku with their teachers 🧑‍🎨!

✨Mathematics is all around us!
In the week of Mathematics from 15th to 21st March, our students experienced Mathematics in all its forms. They started by watching a video showing the many different forms of Math in our surroundings. Then, children of all ages from PS to CM1 solved puzzles in a giant escape game by finding the number of chocolate pieces missing, calculating how many different kinds of juices can be made from 4 fruits, decoding secret codes… Surely the tasks are not easy for our little mathematicians, 🧑‍🔬but they had so much fun!
The children have discovered that Math applies even to sports, arts and sciences! 👩‍🍳👩‍🎨

✨On 23rd April, we celebrated the International Book Day telling stories 📕 in both languages, and then the children watched a traditional puppet show! All children and teachers turned up as their favorite book character. 🕵️‍♀️🤠🤖

✨For the past two weeks, together with friends coming from other schools, our pupils enjoyed science experiments 🧑‍🔬and crafts. They created crystals from alum powder, built electrical circuits, programmed robots to follow a preset course, and crafted lava lamps.
✨The youngest also tried to make the longest tagliatelle pasta possible👩‍🍳, beat cream to make their own butter, and made their own playdough, then shaped cute planets and stars from it 🌍⭐.
Children of all ages also read stories, painted 👩‍🎨, enjoyed the pool and a thrilling game of water tag 💦, as well as football, archery, gym and basketball!

As an international school, it is important to us to celebrate cultural diversity and to encourage curiosity in our pupils. All families were invited to present one or several aspects of the culture of their country of origin.
We warmly thank all parents who came to introduce gastronomy 🍜🥘, dance, music 🎼, celebrations and more from Russia, Germany, Brazil, Morocco, Czech Republic, Japan, Colombia, and India!

As part of our health education program, the French Ministry of Education requires all pupils aged 6 to undergo a general medical check-up in order to identify signs that may lead to learning difficulties: 👓visual, 🧏‍♂️hearing or speech problems.
On Tuesday, La Petite Ecole partnered with @The CMI (Centre Médical International) 👨🏻‍⚕️ to assess all CP pupils’ health.
