🇻🇳 Reunification Day (Ngày Giải Phóng miền Nam) observed on 30th April

Reunification Day is a momentous and emotional pillar of Vietnamese history. It commemorates the historic events of April 30, 1975, when the country was officially reunified after decades of arduous conflict.

This day is a celebration of peace, sovereignty, and the resilience of a nation that never stopped dreaming of unity. If you are in Vietnam during this time, you’ll see the streets transformed into a sea of red and gold as the national flag flies from every home. It is a time of immense national pride, marked by parades, fireworks, and a shared reflection on the incredible journey and progress the country has made since that turning point.

🇻🇳 Hùng Kings’ Commemoration Day (Giỗ Tổ Hùng Vương) observed on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month (27th April 2026)

This deeply meaningful national holiday honors the legendary Hùng Kings, the founding fathers who established the first Vietnamese state, Văn Lang. It is a celebration of heritage, ancestry, and the "bloodline" that connects every Vietnamese person.

The heart of the festival is at the Hùng Temple in Phú Thọ province, where thousands of people make a pilgrimage to offer incense and traditional cakes (Bánh Chưng and Bánh Giầy). For a visitor, this day offers a unique glimpse into the Vietnamese philosophy of "When drinking water, remember the source," reflecting a powerful national identity that has remained unbroken for thousands of years.
