Participating in Expert Panel 2, themed "𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞-𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬: 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐈-𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬," Ms. Duong shared insightful strategies on how SEAMEO RETRAC is reshaping Teacher Professional Development (TPD) for the digital age.

Ms. Duong emphasized that digital transformation isn't just about tools—it’s about people, especially teachers, who decide how technology is used in the classroom and how it affects students’ learning. At SEAMEO RETRAC, we see teacher professional development not as short training courses, but as ongoing learning over time, where teachers play an active role in improving education.

Our goal remains clear: to ensure every educator is not only digitally skilled but also confident and empowered to lead educational change. 🚀

SEAMEO RETRAC actively participated in the 𝐀𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, one of the Asia-Pacific’s leading platforms for international higher education collaboration. More than 3,500 participants from 70 countries and regions gathered in Hong Kong, creating a dynamic forum for university leaders, policymakers, and education experts to exchange strategies and strengthen cross-border partnerships.

During the conference, SEAMEO RETRAC representatives attended plenary sessions, thematic workshops, and panel discussions on key issues shaping higher education, including emerging trends in internationalization, digital transformation and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in university governance and teaching, international accreditation and quality assurance frameworks, as well as regional cooperation models and mobility programs for students and faculty.

SEAMEO RETRAC also introduced its strategic development directions and flagship programs, reaffirming its role as a SEAMEO Regional Centre specializing in educational leadership and management, capacity building, quality assurance, and international collaboration in Southeast Asia.

In exhibition and networking sessions, the delegation conducted bilateral meetings with universities and educational organizations from Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Australia, and Türkiye. Discussions focused on leadership and management development programs, joint research initiatives, academic and professional exchanges, international training programs, and expanded collaboration between Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

Notably, the delegation engaged with The University of Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong, Curtin University, British Columbia Council for International Education, and Canadian Bureau for International Education to explore multilateral projects and collaborative teacher and education leadership development initiatives.

Through its active engagement at APAIE 2026, SEAMEO RETRAC further strengthened its international network, expanded opportunities for regional capacity development, and reinforced its position as a trusted regional hub contributing to the transformation and global integration of education systems in Southeast Asia.
