Our Grace Vocational Training Centre will be a place where young people and children with a disability can come and have a chance of education, vocational training and rehabilitation. Together we can help give young people and children with a disability in Vietnam the opportunity and dignity to have hope for a brighter future.
Mission: CREATING A BRIGHTER FUTURE: By Providing Education, Vocational Training, Medical and Rehabilitation for Disadvantaged children with a physical disability.
Operating as usual
Building progress of the Grace family home. Our project and the builders will take a two weeks break for the Vietnamese Lunar New Year then everything will start again.
The building of the Grace family home is moving along nicely.
Happy New Year from Vietnam (Chúc mừng năm mới)
as Tet approaches. In the Lunar calendar the New Year will be the year of the Ox. Pray that it will be better than the year of the Rat (and all that suggests!)
Blessings in His Name

Some more photos of the Grace family home building getting underway.
We have some very exciting news to share with our supporters. In late 2020 we received building permission from the government on the plan for the Childrens Home.
During 2020 we also hit our initial fundraising target which was $200,000 (we were blessed to receive a $60,000 donation from a family during the year).
We are also really happy and excited to say that construction has commenced in january 2021 with siteworks underway.
A big thank you to all of our supporters as we have only been able to get to this stage with your generous financial support.
It has been a long time coming, but here is the latest news from the Company of Grace.
An exciting development is happening in the Bakery that you need to read about.
It looks like it will be used more often and looking towards being full time. Everybody loves pizza!
There is more on the TESOL course and the op-shop.

Since receiving this newsletter, Van and Tien's baby has been born and is healthy in every way - her name is Kim Vien. Van and Tien are running their own english school that is independent to COG but are experiencing financial difficulties due to covid and a lack of income. Please pray for them that God will show them a way that they can continue. They are both passionate about serving the disabled and disadvantaged in Vietnam and allowing others to experience the opportunities that received through their time at COG. If you would like to help then please contact David Richardson at [email protected]
We have an original painting for auction from one of our staff members Mr Cong who is a part time artist.
Proceeds from the sale of the painting will go to the Grace Family Home Project.
It is quite a dark painting and is showing lighter in the photos.
It has been rolled up and so will need to be flattened out and framed.
Can be posted for a extra cost or pickup in Adelaide.
We will run the silent auction for 2 weeks with bidding starting at $10 - please share with family and friends if you think that they would like to place a bid. Please add your bids onto this post or message us for a private bid
After a few months of teaching English classes it is the end of the school year already. With a small celebration and short summer break before we are back for a new school year.
Teaching English classes again. This is what it will be like from now on with everyone wearing masks, washing hands and Michael at the gate to check student's temperature before they can come in.
After three months of lockdown we had some local volunteers help us clean up our Grace centre ready to start up our English classes and other activities again. Everyone is getting excited to start the year after a long delay.

Hello Friends and Family of Hoa and Hien, and the Company of Grace.
We are sure you know Hoa is planning a children’s home on the extended block of land at COG in Ho Chi Minh City. You may also know there is a fundraising committee in Adelaide which has been working to raise funds for the Grace Family Home. Currently, we still have a considerable shortfall, which Hoa outlined in his last newsletter of $60,000.
A friend of COG, has come up with a great-fun idea to raise some $$$.
Since we have been in lock-down, we have probably all become more Tech-savvy and use Zoom, skype, facebook or houseparty to communicate with friends and colleagues.
So how about organising a Ball with friends and family where you connect via technology but dress up and have dinner and entertainment.
Let’s have some fun with it! We would love you all to participate in this. From the comfort of your own home!
Perhaps a Surprise Birthday Ball for the Queen, (her REAL birthday was last week, and her ‘official’ birthday is mid- June, but she is not celebrating this year). Or a surprise Birthday for someone close to you!
Or A Coming-out Ball - De-Hibernation theme, The great unlocking - doors, windows, hearts and/or wallets.
Or you could have a particular music theme; How about a masked ball - Venetian or medical! Amore Venetian Mask - Made in Venice - Mask Shop Australia
The Houseparty app has some great games that you can play together.
It’s up to you. Just enjoy!
Tickets would be a $25 per head donation (or more or less according to your budget) or you can even raise more money on the night with games and auctions.
For more details or questions on how it would work please email David from Adelaide on [email protected] or if you need some help with getting the technology working.
Well, there is good news and bad news at Company of Grace this month.
The good news is that one of the young American people visiting CoG (before this COVID-19 lockdown) has raised the money for the new playground and it has been installed.
The bad news is that there are no kids to play on it.
Schools are still in lockdown and there are fines for being on the street if you are not going out to buy food. Beside that, most of the residents of CoG are still in their own hometowns from Tet.
In Adelaide in early march we held a fundraising "Breakfast for Hoa" as no school means no income for CoG and so we were able to contirbute some funds to help them during this difficult time.
Please read the newsletter for more information to view photos from the new playground.

[02/09/20] We are looking for volunteers to come to the Company of Grace in 2020 or 2021. We have a need for volunteers who are able to do gardening, painting, maintenance, assist in teaching english, arts & crafts, cooking or cleaning. We have a team coming in september 2020 from Adelaide plus we are organising the 10 year anniversary of the opening of the COG in august 2021, which may give you more time to plan. If you or your church is interested then please contact David Richardson at [email protected] who can assist you with the planning process and logistics of volunteering.
Greetings and Blessings from The Company of Grace.

The most recent newsletter from Hoa in Vietnam is now available athttp://companyofgrace.com.vn/Newsletter.pdf
Hoa and Hien will be returning to Adelaide (for family reasons) in November and as his health declines, this will probably be his last chance to visit "home".
So a special "Afternoon with Hoa and Hien" will be held at the Enfield Baptist Church
(7 / 1 Francis Ave, Broadview) on Saturday 30th November from 1:30pm until 4:30pm.
They will tell us where the Company of Grace is now, what they have achieved and where they hope it will be in the future. Please bring a small plate of afternoon tea to share if you are able to.
We encourage you to take this opportunity to see Hoa and Hien and to hear their remarkable story that has lead to the Company of Grace. Donations and Love Offerings for the work of the Company of Grace and the Grace Family Home will be accepted. Pop up cards, lanterns and other items from Vietnam will also be available for purchase. (All funds raised will go towards the Grace Family Home project).
EFT facilities will be available for donations and purchases.
New classes at Company of Grace: Hien & Phuong teaching baking and Miss Nghia teaching art to the children in the community.

[07/31/19] Good news for our Adelaide supporters - Hoa and Hien will be coming to Adelaide to visit his family in November. Due to his health he is unable to do a speaking tour at the various churches that support the project but we have organised one event to be held on the November the 30th at Enfield Baptist from 1.30pm until 5pm. Hoa will speak for about 45 minutes and will be able to provide a detailed update on the Company of Grace. We will also be raising funds for the Grace Family Home project which Hoa is focused on completing as soon as possible - we still need to raise at least another $70,000 (we have raised $130,000 to date). An afternoon tea will be provided and plenty of time for you to catch up with Hoa and Hien. Hoa feels that this may be his last trip to Adelaide as its becoming difficult for him to travel, and so its a great chance to see him. We will setup a event closer to time so please consider attending and spread the word.

We have now raised a total of $130,000 towards the Grace Childrens home project. We are hoping to get final approvals to be able to commence building late this year. Our goal is to raise $200,000 which will enable us to fund the whole project and we will be having more fundraising events later this year as well. Please consider donating to the project or organise a fundraiser so we can complete our fundraising and make the project a reality. http://companyofgrace.com.vn/en/family-home-project
companyofgrace.com.vn Hoa Stone has come into contact with a group of children who are being looked after by volunteers and he wants the Company of Grace to be able to expand their support services to this group.
Last Saturday we had some orphans come to visit our project to get experience of what we do at Company of Grace. They loved it so much they didn't want to go home. Thanks to Ben Harley for making this all possible.

The wall has been built around the block and garden beds, pathways and painting is under way. The first building project will be the construction of Hoa & Hiens house which Hoa is funding from his savings. We will then commence the construction of the Grace Family Home. We have so far raised $115,000 towards this project and our goal is to raise a total of $200,000.
