HAVEN Learners Are Already Coding Their Way to the Future! 🚀

Did you know that at HAVEN, we believe that Computer and Technology Literacy is essential, even for our youngest learners ?

We are so proud to share a glimpse of the incredible work our learners were doing in their coding and tech classes last month!

Starting Strong in Grade 1!
We introduce the world of programming as early as Grade 1! Our young learners are guided through basic coding principles using the fun and kid-friendly interface, Scratch Jr, developed by MIT University.
• Their first project? They learned the fundamental concept of making a sprite (character) move across the screen! It's the first step in unlocking a world of digital creation.

Building Skills in Grade 2!
Our Grade 2 learners take their skills to the next level!
• Using the Scratch Jr app, they recently completed a more complex challenge: designing and creating their very own "Guessing Game!" This project helps them understand algorithms, sequencing, and problem-solving.

Responsible Digital Citizenship for Grades 3 & 4!
Coding goes hand-in-hand with safety! Our Grade 3 and 4 students integrate their Computer Literacy, Coding, and HELE (Home Economics and Livelihood Education) lessons:
• Focus: Continuing to build their coding knowledge while mastering the crucial lesson of Safe and Responsible Use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

At HAVEN, we are dedicated to providing the tools and guidance our learners need to thrive as innovators and responsible digital citizens in the 21st century!

What skills do you think are most important for kids to learn in technology today? Let us know in the comments! 👇

MAJOR LEAGUE ALERT!

When we say "My Mom and My Dad Can Teach Too" month is a smash, we mean it literally!
HUGE thank you to tennis legend Sir Ivan Miranda (father of our own Mariano!) for bringing world-class expertise right into our Grade 7 & 8 classes. Our HAVEN learners didn't just learn new skills—they experienced the power of the “serve”from a world class pro! 🎾

A big thanks to Ms. Lore ( Mariano’s mom ) for the all out support behind the scenes as well. Truly, our leaners’ “ Moms and Dads Can Teach something valuable Too” whether in front of the class, or behind the scenes.

This is what the HAVEN partnership is all about: Tapping into the incredible talent of our families to build a vibrant, connected community one unforgettable experience at a time. Our parents truly are our greatest resource! 🏆

Who’s next, HAVEN Parents?
1. What superpower can you teach next?
2. What's your favorite memory from this program?
3. Tag a talented parent! 👇

Wait, did a REAL airline PILOT just teach our Grade 6 class?! 😲

That's right! At The Learning Haven International, learning isn't just led by our amazing teachers! Our "My Mom and My Dad Can Teach Too!" program brought Captain TJ (Finn and Ysabella's dad!) right into the classroom last week . He traded the cockpit for our campus to give our Grade 6 under the advisory of teacher Hadaza, together with Grades 5, 7, and 8 learners, an unforgettable glimpse into the world of aviation. ✈️🌍

The curiosity, the questions, the amazement... Our HAVEN learners were absolutely buzzing! It's moments like these, with our incredible parents sharing their real-life passions and professions, that make learning truly deep, meaningful, and hands-on.

Thank you, Captain TJ and all our amazing parents! You are helping us build tomorrow's dreamers and doers! 🙏

PART 2

Our Grade 11 HAVEN learners recently embarked on a meaningful and enriching art tour as part of their Contemporary Art class under Sir Sherwin.

To make the experience even more purposeful, they brought along their juniors from Grades 9 and 10—giving them an early glimpse of what awaits them in Senior High School’s Contemporary Art subject. This shared learning journey exposed our students to diverse artistic spaces, deep reflections, and real-world connections beyond the classroom walls.

“Together, they visited Gallery Quynh and the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum which offer two very different art experiences that help our HAVEN learners understand contemporary art. Gallery Quynh is a private contemporary art gallery showcasing experimental, modern works, often conceptual artworks that reflect present-day ideas, issues, and artistic innovation.
In contrast, the Fine Arts Museum is a public institution that preserves Vietnam’s art heritage, displaying traditional, modern, and historical artworks. While Gallery Quynh focuses on new trends and critical thinking, the museum provides cultural and historical context, allowing our learners to see how contemporary art developed over time. Together, both spaces help learners understand the evolution from traditional forms to today’s contemporary art expressions.”
-Teacher Sherwin-

This educational visit to Gallery Quynh and the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum gave our learners a fuller, richer perspective of art—past and present, traditional and contemporary.

Witnessing the contrast between innovative modern works and Vietnam’s treasured artistic heritage allowed them to appreciate how art evolves and speaks to every generation.

Moments like these remind us that learning is not confined to textbooks but thrives in experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
