The Solvay Alumni Tennis Tournament 2025 wrapped up this past Sunday! This year was special as it was organized by our Community for the first time, bringing together generations of Solvay Master’s Graduates from 1995 to 2025.

🔸 A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Pham Phuong for leading the organizing team in making this beautiful tournament happen. Your dedication brought our community together for a day of competitive matches, reconnection, and celebration.

🔸 Thank you to all our precious participating alumni, sponsors, and supporters who made this event memorable. It was wonderful to see the Solvay spirit in action, a network that stays connected and continues to grow stronger.

Last week, our Management and Organisation class had the privilege of hosting Mr Rakesh Dayal, Managing Director of Ipsos Vietnam, as our guest speaker.

🔸 Mr. Rakesh Dayal shared valuable insights from his leadership experience within Ipsos Vietnam, part of a global French market research group with more than 20,000 employees across 90 markets worldwide. Students engaged in discussions about organizational structures, leadership practices, and the realities of managing in an international business environment.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Rakesh Dayal for his generosity in sharing his time and expertise with our students, and to Prof. Pascal Wuillaume for bringing this session to our class!

This year’s tournament is especially meaningful as it is organized for the first time by the Solvay Alumni Community, with generations 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟱, 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟯𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺. Having been CEO 7 times across 7 different sectors, Prof Pascal Wuillaume brings hands-on management insights through practical teaching approaches into every session of his course in the Executive Master Programs at Solvay.

🔸"My teaching philosophy follows the 25/75 rule: students should be active participants for 75% of the class time. I believe learning is most effective when it's practical and engaging," Prof Pascal shared. He brings in real-life examples from his professional experience to illustrate concepts, and whenever possible, invites local guest speakers to share their insights, including successes, failures, and challenges. "The aim is to keep courses as interactive as possible, using content and tools directly applicable in the Vietnamese context."
