Sau một hành trình tận hiến cho Võ học và Nghệ thuật, – sau một thời gian rất ngắn phát hiện bệnh tình, người nghệ sĩ tài hoa, người thầy kính mến – đã an nhiên rời cõi tạm lúc ngày 02 tháng 01 năm 2026 (giờ Hoa Kỳ – Philadelphia) với sự chăm sóc tận tâm từ vợ (Uyen Nguyen) và học trò tại Mỹ để lại niềm tiếc thương vô hạn trong lòng gia đình, bằng hữu và các thế hệ môn sinh tại Việt Nam và khắp nơi trên thế giới.

Cuộc đời một "Mãnh sư" mang trái tim nghệ sĩ:
Sinh ra tại Sài Gòn, mang trong mình hai dòng máu Việt – Hoa, Thầy Phan Phước đã gắn bó với võ thuật từ năm 11 tuổi bằng một niềm đam mê mãnh liệt và thầm lặng. Với thầy, võ thuật không chỉ là những đường quyền biến ảo, mà còn là đạo đức, là sự tu dưỡng tâm tính, cải sửa bản thân theo tinh hoa của cả Phật-Lão-Nho.

Suốt cuộc đời, thầy luôn ấp ủ ước nguyện "phát dương quang đại" môn phái Thất Sơn Thần Quyền 36 Tổ - đúc kết từ tinh hoa của dòng Thần Quyền Việt - Ấn - Hoa và các dòng tâm linh nam truyền. Thầy đã dạy dỗ học trò bằng cả trái tim và mong muốn trao truyền những giá trị Chân - Thiện - Mỹ.

Đằng sau những màn trình diễn mạnh mẽ, người ta vẫn luôn nhớ về Thầy như một tâm hồn yêu cái đẹp: một người họa sĩ tốt nghiệp Đại học Nghệ thuật Philadelphia, một người thích hội họa, làm vườn, tìm thấy sự an nhiên trong tiếng nhạc Jazz và những phút giây thiền định tĩnh lặng.

Di nguyện và Tưởng nhớ:
Dù Thầy đã ra đi, nhưng ngọn lửa nhiệt huyết về một bậc thầy võ thuật vang danh, một tâm hồn nghệ sĩ lãng tử vẫn sẽ mãi thắp sáng trong ngôi võ đường mà Thầy dày công gây dựng, và trong trái tim của mỗi môn sinh đã từng được thầy chỉ dạy.

Thầy đã hoàn thành sứ mệnh của một người thầy, người cha, người chồng đáng kính, một mãnh hổ dũng mãnh và một người nghệ sĩ phong trần. Mong Thầy an yên nơi cõi vĩnh hằng.

After a lifelong journey of total dedication to Martial Arts and the Arts, and following a very short period after the discovery of his illness, the talented artist and deeply respected teacher passed away peacefully at January 2nd, 2026 (U.S. time – Philadelphia).
He departed this world with the devoted care of his wife (Uyen Nguyen), and disciples in the United States, leaving immeasurable sorrow in the hearts of his family, friends, and generations of students in Vietnam and around the world.

The Life of a “Fierce Master” with an Artist’s Soul
Born in Saigon, of Vietnamese–Chinese heritage, Master Phan Gia Phuoc began his martial arts journey at the age of 11 with a quiet yet powerful passion. To him, martial arts were not merely techniques and movements, but a path of moral cultivation, inner refinement, and self-correction—drawing upon the essence of Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.

Throughout his life, he carried the aspiration to revive and elevate the legacy of That Son Than Quyen – 36 Patriarchs, a system distilled from the spiritual and martial essences of Vietnamese, Indian, and Chinese traditions, as well as Southern spiritual lineages.

He taught his disciples with his whole heart, striving to pass on the timeless values of Truth – Compassion – Beauty.
Behind his powerful demonstrations, he was remembered as a lover of beauty and tranquility:

a painter and graduate of the University of the Arts, Philadelphia,
a man who cherished painting, gardening, jazz music, and moments of quiet meditation.

Final Wishes and Remembrance
Though he has departed, the flame of dedication of a renowned martial arts master and the free-spirited soul of an artist will continue to burn brightly—within the training halls he devoted his life to building, and within the hearts of every disciple he guided.

He has fulfilled his mission as a revered teacher, a devoted father, a beloved husband, a courageous martial tiger, and a wandering artist of great spirit.

Martial arts is often misunderstood as a competitive pursuit driven by ego. However, I firmly believe it's an art form rooted in noble ethics, fostering personal growth and character development. As practitioners master their craft, they cultivate selflessness, avoiding harm to others except in self-defense.

To me, Kung Fu / martial arts parallels sports like archery – focusing on refining skills, not fueling aggression. The greatest adversary a martial artist faces is their own ego, requiring constant self-reflection and discipline .
