Why Mode?

There’s a duality to the meaning of the word that supports the nature of a life studying jiu-jitsu and martial arts.

1. Jiu-jitsu as ‘the way’ of taking steps towards a goal, as a form of creative development and self-expression.

2. A natural progression occurs in jiu-jitsu: new ideas and techniques emerge each year as older potitions and concepts cycle in and out of fashion.

The wave motif neatly frames these two meanings - waves are permanent yet ever-changing.

We are really excited to share the final designs for Mode! The goal was to create a clean, modern, professional space with jiu-jitsu at its core. Here you can see what the gym will look like when it is finished!
