🇻🇳RECAP: VIVID VIET VIBES #6🇻🇳

Hello everyone,

Heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who joined us for our 6th event. It was truly a delight to spend time together, and witnessing the lively conversations, shared stories, and the warmth among participants highlighted the strong sense of community we've fostered. 🙆🏻‍♂️ 🙆🏻‍♀️

This particular gathering held special significance as it took place during the 7th lunar month, known as "Tháng cô hồn" (Hungry Ghost Month). We delved into the fascinating traditions, superstitions, and folklore that define this month in Vietnamese culture. Participants were given a rare glimpse into the rituals and beliefs that have been passed down through generations. Additionally, we explored "Lễ Vu Lan" (Parents' Day), a time when Vietnamese people honor their parents and ancestors, and it was wonderful to see our local members sharing their personal experiences and practices with our expat friends. 👻 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

All top of that, we want to express our deep appreciation for your continued support over the past two months. Vivid Viet Vibes #6 not only brought us together to celebrate culture and language, but it also marked a significant milestone as the final event in this series of Shiny Vietnamese language exchanges. Your enthusiasm and active participation have been the heart and soul of these events, and it’s because of you that we’ve been able to create such a vibrant and inclusive space. ❤️‍🔥

While this event concludes our current series, this is far from a farewell. We’re taking a moment to pause, reflect, and plan for the future, and we promise that Vivid Viet Vibes will return with even more exciting and enriching experiences. We look forward to the day when we can gather once again, exchange stories, learn languages, and continue our journey of cultural exploration together. 🌏

Hey guys, 👀

Thank you for joining Vivid Viet Vibes #5 with Shiny Vietnamese. We were thrilled to welcome you into a warm Vietnamese family setting and had a fantastic time exploring Vietnamese traditions and dining etiquettes together. 🙏

During the event, we played a fun mini-game called Yay or Nay to explore Vietnamese dining etiquettes. Also, we delved into the unique aspects of Asian families, particularly Vietnamese, with multiple generations living under one roof.🥄🥢🍚

Moreover, a lot of insights were shared on how we show respect through personal pronouns, which vary by age, gender, and generation. Everyone had so much fun drawing their own family trees and learning how Vietnamese people address their relatives in extended families.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

And the fun didn’t stop there as our conversation dialogues on dining manners helped expats pick up key phrases and vocabulary for better communication with locals. To further connect everyone, we had a Q&A session where participants "enjoyed the meal" by picking random questions under each food item. This sparked great discussions on cultural norms, superstitions, and dining etiquette dos and don'ts. 😈👿
