CÙNG ISCM MANG KHÔNG KHÍ TẾT VỀ VỚI BỆNH NHÂN VÀ Y BÁC SĨ BỆNH VIỆN CHỢ RẪY VỚI DỰ ÁN THIỆN NGUYỆN ĐƯỜNG HOA 2025

🎋Từ ngày 10/12/2025 - 25/01/2025, thuộc khuôn khổ chuỗi sự kiện 2025 Symphony of Future Cities, Viện Đô thị Thông minh và Quản lý - Đại học Kinh tế TP. Hồ Chí Minh, kết hợp cùng đội ngũ Y - Bác sĩ Bệnh Viện Chợ Rẫy thực hiện thiết kế, giám sát thi công và tổ chức Đường hoa Bệnh viện Chợ Rẫy 2025. Là hoạt động diễn ra hàng năm tại Bệnh viện Chợ Rẫy, Đường hoa năm nay lấy chủ đề Xuân Gắn Kết - Tết 3 Miền, với hy vọng mang đến không khí ấm áp của Tết Cổ truyền đến với các bệnh nhân và y bác sĩ phải xa gia đình, ở lại điều trị và làm việc xuyên suốt Tết Ất Tỵ 2025.

Đi qua tháng 12 sáng tạo, và gần 2 tuần đầu tiên của tháng 1 triển khai thi công để mang ý tưởng đến với thực tế, các bạn sinh viên Chương trình Kiến trúc và Thiết kế Đô thị Thông minh cuối cùng đã được nhìn thấy thiết kế của bản thân mang những nụ cười vui vẻ và hạnh phúc đến với mọi người. Đường hoa lấy chủ đề Tết Miền Bắc, thành công tái hiện hình ảnh phố cổ với Ngõ Leng Keng, hình ảnh Cây Nêu tại cổng chào và 5 Nhịp Cung tròn đại diện cho vòng tròn Sinh lão bệnh tử, hướng tới thể hiện mong ước một Xuân An Thương vào năm 2025. Ý tưởng này đã xuất sắc giúp đường hoa đạt giải Đặc biệt của cuộc thi Đường hoa Bệnh viện Chợ Rẫy năm nay.

TOGETHER WITH ISCM, BRING THE TET ATMOSPHERE TO CHO RAY HOSPITAL

🎋From December 10, 2025, to January 25, 2025, as part of the 2025 Symphony of Future Cities event series, the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM) at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the medical staff of Chợ Rẫy Hospital, designed, supervised, and organized the 2025 Chợ Rẫy Hospital Flower Street.

An annual tradition at Chợ Rẫy Hospital, this year’s Flower Street adopts the theme "Spring of Connection - Lunar New Year Across Three Regions" in hopes of bringing the warmth of the Lunar New Year to patients and medical staff who must remain at the hospital for treatment and work throughout the 2025 Year of the Snake holiday.

Following a creative December and nearly two weeks of construction in early January, students from the Architectural and Urban Design Inclusive Smart City saw their designs come to life, bringing smiles and joy to everyone. This year’s Flower Street theme, Northern New Year successfully recreated the iconic imagery of the Old Quarter with Ngõ Leng Keng (resonating alleys), a Cây Nêu (bamboo pole for Tet) at the main gate, and Five Archways symbolizing the cycle of life: birth, aging, illness, and death. These elements express hopes for a peaceful and prosperous spring in 2025. This innovative concept won the Special Prize in this year’s Chợ Rẫy Hospital Flower Street competition.

BUỔI DIỄN THUYẾT PRIORITISING PEDESTRIAN EQUITY: TRANSITIONING TO JUST WALKABLE PLACES

🚶Chiều ngày 06/01/2025, Viện Đô thị Thông minh và Quản lý - Đại học Kinh tế TP. Hồ Chí Minh, kết hợp cùng Đại học Melbourne (Úc) tổ chức Buổi Diễn thuyết Prioritising Pedestrian Equity: Transitioning to just Walkable Places. Buổi diễn thuyết có sự tham gia của PGS. TS. Derlie Mateo-Babiano (giảng viên Đại học Melbourne - Úc), PGS. TS. Trịnh Thùy Anh (Phó hiệu trưởng Trường Công nghệ và Thiết kế UEH), cùng các giảng viên, chuyên gia, và sinh viên đến từ các khoa, viện của Đại học UEH.

Trong suốt buổi diễn thuyết, PGS.TS. Babiano đã nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng của việc phát triển các khu vực dành cho người đi bộ trong thiết kế đô thị nói chung. Đây là giải pháp không chỉ góp phần cải thiện chất lượng cuộc sống mà còn giảm thiểu tác động môi trường. Các đề xuất được đưa ra như mở rộng vỉa hè, trồng thêm cây xanh và đảm bảo an toàn giao thông đã được trình bày như những bước quan trọng để xây dựng các không gian công cộng và tăng cường sự công bằng cho người đi bộ. Ngoài ra, Cô cũng trình bày các cách thức và công cụ để đánh giá sự hiệu quả khi đi bộ đang được áp dụng tại các nước phát triển nhằm hỗ trợ các hoạt động phát triển chính sách và quy hoạch đô thị trong việc cải thiện cơ sở hạ tầng.

AT A GLANCE OF PUBLIC LECTURE PRIORITISING PEDESTRIAN EQUITY: TRANSITIONING TO JUST WALKABLE PLACES AT A GLANCE

🚶On the afternoon of January 6, 2025, the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM) at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in collaboration with the University of Melbourne (Australia), hosted a public lecture titled Prioritising Pedestrian Equity: Transitioning to Just Walkable Places. The event featured Assoc. Prof. Derlie Mateo-Babiano (lecturer at the University of Melbourne, Australia), Assoc. Prof. Trinh Thuy Anh (Vice Rector of the UEH School of Technology and Design), along with lecturers, experts, and students from various faculties and institutes at UEH.

Throughout the lecture, Assoc. Prof. Derlie Mateo-Babiano emphasized the importance of developing pedestrian-friendly areas in urban design. This approach not only enhances the quality of life but also mitigates environmental impacts. Proposals such as expanding sidewalks, planting more greenery, and ensuring traffic safety were presented as critical steps in building public spaces and promoting equity for pedestrians. Additionally, she introduced methods and tools used to evaluate walkability effectiveness, which are currently applied in developed countries to support policy development and urban planning efforts aimed at improving infrastructure.

🏆Vào ngày 12/01/2025, buổi bảo vệ đồ án tốt nghiệp của sinh viên chuyên ngành Kiến trúc và Thiết kế Đô thị Thông minh đã diễn ra thành công tốt đẹp, với sự tham gia của 35 sinh viên thuộc chuyên ngành. Không chỉ là những sản phẩm chất lượng, đáng tự hào, đồ án tốt nghiệp là còn là minh chứng cho nỗ lực bền bỉ suốt 4 tháng, không ngừng khảo sát, nghiên cứu, thử nghiệm và sẵn sàng bắt đầu lại từ đầu để đưa ra được giải pháp thiết kế, những đề xuất nghiên cứu phù hợp nhất. Đồng thời, kết quả của đồ án cũng là minh chứng cho sự vững tin vào tri thức đã nhận được và trau dồi suốt 3.5 năm học tập tại Viện Đô thị Thông minh và Quản lý - Đại học Kinh tế TP. Hồ Chí Minh

GRADUATION PROJECT DEFENSE OF THE FIRST BATCH IN THE BACHELOR PROGRAM OF ARCHITECTURAL AND URBAN DESIGN INCLUSIVE SMART CITY

On January 12, 2025, at the StudioLab learning space on Campus V of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, the graduation project defense of students majoring in Architectural and Urban Design Inclusive Smart City was successfully held. This event marked a significant milestone with the participation of 35 students presenting the first-ever graduation projects in the program. Beyond being high-quality and commendable works, these projects serve as a testament to:

🤗 Four months of unwavering effort, involving continuous surveys, research, experimentation, and readiness to start anew to create the most suitable urban design solutions for the chosen sites.

🥰 Knowledge cultivated over 3.5 years of study at the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM) at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City.

🌞 ISCM’s belief in advancing a new paradigm where the boundaries between architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design are blurred and interconnected within a shared urban landscape framework.

ISCM hopes that through these graduation projects, and the knowledge gained throughout their studies, students have acquired the foundational mindset necessary to continue developing solutions to urban challenges, aiming for the creation of smart and sustainable cities.

✈️Từ ngày 06/01 đến ngày 11/01/2025, Viện Đô thị Thông minh và Quản lý đã có chuyến làm việc cùng các cơ quan, đơn vị nghiên cứu các lĩnh vực liên quan đến thiết kế kiến trúc, thiết kế và phát triển đô thị thông minh ở ngay tại hai thành phố lớn của Đài Loan: Đài Bắc và Cao Hùng.

Xuyên suốt hành trình tại Đài Loan, ISCM đã tham quan, gặp gỡ, và trao đổi cùng các chuyên gia tại Viện Công nghiệp Thông tin, Công ty SED-IA Architects (Đài Bắc), Viện nghiên cứu công nghệ công nghiệp (ITRI) (Tân Trúc), và Đại học Quốc lập Tôn Trung Sơn (Cao Hùng). Với các chia sẻ của các chuyên gia, ISCM đã được trực tiếp tìm hiểu về các cách ứng dụng hiệu quả các công nghệ thông minh mới nhất, dẫn đầu xu hướng phát triển bền vững, có thể kể đến như các thiết kế tích hợp không gian xanh một cách hiệu quả bên trong công trình kiến trúc, hay nghiên cứu sử dụng pin năng lượng mặt trời có thể tái sử dụng được.

Sau các buổi thảo luận, ISCM nhận được nhiều lời mời tham gia chia sẻ tri thức tại các hội thảo quốc tế về đô thị thông minh, cũng như các hợp tác trong các dự án thiết kế thông minh, phát triển cộng đồng đô thị có chất lượng cuộc sống cao và bền vững hơn trong tương lai. ISCM hy vọng rằng, cùng với các hứa hẹn về những hợp tác sâu rộng hơn trong tương lai, chuyến đi đã thành công mở đầu hành trình kỷ niệm 5 năm thành lập ISCM mang tên Symphony of Future Cities ở năm 2025.

CONNECT, LEARN, AND COLLABORATE: THE INSTITUTE OF SMART CITY AND MANAGEMENT VISITS PARTNERS IN TAIPEI AND KAOHSIUNG, TAIWAN

✈️ From January 6 to January 11, 2025, the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM) embarked on a working trip to meet with organizations and research units specializing in fields related to architectural design and the development of smart cities in Taiwan's two major cities: Taipei and Kaohsiung.

Throughout the journey, ISCM visited, connected with, and exchanged insights with experts from the Institute for Information Industry, SED-IA Architects (Taipei), the Industrial Technology Research Institute (Hsinchu), and National Sun Yat-sen University (Kaohsiung). Through the valuable exchanges, ISCM has known more about the effective application of cutting-edge smart technologies and sustainable development trends. Highlights included innovative architectural designs that effectively integrate green spaces and research into reusable solar energy batteries.

Following the discussions, ISCM received numerous invitations to share knowledge at international conferences on smart cities and to collaborate on projects involving intelligent design and the development of urban communities with higher quality of life and sustainability. ISCM is optimistic that, alongside the promising prospects of deeper partnerships in the future, this trip successfully launched the 2025 celebration of ISCM’s 5th anniversary, aptly named Symphony of Future Cities.

✨Nghiên cứu này đề xuất một khung lý thuyết mới, tích hợp góc nhìn của nhà quy hoạch đô thị và nhà tiếp thị đô thị, với luận chứng rằng “Thương hiệu đô thị không chỉ là trách nhiệm riêng của nhà quy hoạch hay nhà tiếp thị, mà cần triển khai thông qua một khung triển khai tích hợp đa ngành, xuyên ngành, lấy nhận diện đô thị là trọng tâm xuyên suốt giữa các lĩnh vực để giải quyết các vấn đề đô thị phát sinh liên tục trong quá trình phát triển đô thị, mà đích đến cuối cùng là nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống cư dân.

UEH-ISCM EXPERTS RECEIVE "BEST PAPER" AWARD AT THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL PLACE BRANDING ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE (IPBA)

🌻Recently, experts and professors from the Institute of Smart City and Management at UEH (UEH ISCM) presented at two sessions during the 8th Annual Conference of the International Place Branding Association (IPBA), held in Bangkok, Thailand. Their presentation, titled “Towards A Comprehensive Integrated City Branding Framework: View From City Marketer and City Planner”, earned them the prestigious “Best Paper” Award.

✨The research introduces a novel theoretical framework that integrates the perspectives of urban planners and city marketers. It argues that city branding should not be viewed solely as the responsibility of either urban planners or marketers. Instead, an interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral integrated framework is required. This approach emphasizes urban identity as the central theme, addressing emerging urban challenges throughout the city development process, ultimately aiming to enhance residents' quality of life.

ĐỒ ÁN KIẾN TRÚC II - 2024: KHÁM PHÁ GIAI ĐOẠN THỰC HIỆN MÔ HÌNH

Tiếp nối với hành trình Chuyển đổi “không gian cũ” hướng về tương lai, đề xuất ý tưởng thiết kế cho khu chợ Dân Sinh (phường Nguyễn Thái Bình, quận 1), sinh viên ISCM đang bắt đầu thực hiện những mô hình đầu tiên.

Với tỉ lệ 1/250, mô hình thể hiện sự hòa hợp của các khối công trình mới so với hình thái kiến trúc của khu vực. Architectural Design Studio II - 2024: HOW CAN PUBLIC ARCHITECTURE TRANSFORM "OLD SPACES" FOR THE FUTURE?

Continuing the journey of transforming "old spaces" toward the future, a design proposal for the Dân Sinh Market (Nguyen Thai Binh Ward, District 1) has been introduced. ISCM students are now crafting the initial models, showcasing forms and design concepts aligned with the development orientation of either a new type of structure or retaining the market’s existing functions while evolving it into a modern version.

With the aim of gaining a clear perspective on the harmony between new building structures and the architectural context of the area, ISCM students have constructed a 1:250 scale model of the existing site. This model provides students and faculty at ISCM with the most comprehensive view of the spatial forms proposed for the new structures. It serves as a foundation for guiding design directions and solutions that not only align with future-oriented goals but also maintain architectural coherence within the area.
