It is our delight to welcome a dynamic group of interns from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, to Van Lang University✨

On May 11th, ISSC hosted an engaging Campus Tour and Orientation to help the interns acclimate to their new workplace with the VLU Buddy team. The day was filled with vibrant energy as the NTU students explored VLU’s modern facilities, discovered the university’s heritage, and experienced the friendly atmosphere that defines our campus culture. This orientation served as a bridge, connecting the interns with the VLU community and providing them with the essential insights needed to navigate their upcoming professional tasks in Vietnam😍

During their time at VLU, they will be working at respective departments: the International Student Support Center (ISSC), the Faculty of Industrial Engineering and Management, and the Faculty of Environment. We are incredibly excited to see the fresh perspectives and innovative ideas these interns will bring to Van Lang University and wish you all a successful and memorable journey ahead. 👏

The International Student Support Center (ISSC) is delighted to welcome Laurine Loyal as our new international intern🌏 Coming from Institut National Universitaire Champollion in France, Laurine brings a wealth of international experience and a vibrant passion for student support services👏

With a rich tapestry of experiences, Laurine has already established herself as a dedicated advocate for global education. She successfully created the podcast "Du Monde aux Mines" in 2026 to highlight the experiences of international students in France, served as a French teaching assistant at the University of Alberta in Canada from 2024 to 2025, and contributed her time as a volunteer for the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) between 2023 and 2024. Her diverse background in communication and cross-cultural engagement makes her a wonderful addition to our team🤩

Sharing about her journey and feelings upon arriving at VLU: "After coming across a video of a previous ISSC intern, I knew immediately that this was the adventure I had been looking for. Stepping out of my comfort zone to come to Vietnam has been an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in a new culture while exploring my future career path. I was instantly impressed by VLU’s modern campus and its vibrant international atmosphere. However, the true highlight of my journey so far is undoubtedly the people I’ve met; I am so grateful for the chance to learn about Vietnamese food, habits, and culture through the activities we share together"🤍

Konsul Jenderal Republik Indonesia di Ho Chi Minh City, Ibu Carolina Tinangon, melakukan kunjungan ke Van Lang University (VLU) pada 22 April 2026.

Delegasi KJRI Ho Chi Minh City diterima oleh Presiden (Rektor) VLU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Thị Mỹ Diệu, Ms. Nguyễn Thị Kim Lan, Wakil Direktur, Kantor International Student Support Center dan Mr. Trần Lưu Phương Nam, Wakil Kepala, Department of Partnership and Engagement.

Pertemuan dengan pihak VLU dilaksanakan dalam rangka untuk mempererat hubungan KJRI Ho Chi Minh City dan VLU, serta mengetahui lebih lanjut perkembangan implementasi kerja sama pendidikan tinggi antara VLU dengan berbagai universitas mitra di Indonesia.

Pertemuan ini juga menjadi sarana bagi kedua pihak untuk saling bertukar ide dalam menjajaki pengembangan lebih lanjut kerja sama di bidang pendidikan tinggi.

Presiden VLU dengan antusias menyambut berbagai ide kerja sama, termasuk peluang pengembangan kemitraan dengan institusi pendidikan tinggi di Indonesia yang diharapkan tidak hanya memberikan manfaat mutual bagi kalangan mahasiswa dan universitas, tetapi juga dapat memberikan kontribusi positif bagi komunitas warga kedua negara.

Selain itu, diperoleh informasi p**a bahwa pada semester ini terdapat sejumlah mahasiswa Indonesia yang tengah mengikuti program pertukaran mahasiswa di VLU, sebagai bagian dari implementasi kerja sama program international academic mobility VLU dengan 2 universitas mitra di Indonesia.

KJRI Ho Chi Minh City senantiasa mendukung dan akan turut memfasilitasi pengembangan kerja sama pendidikan tinggi antar berbagai universitas di Indonesia dengan mitra universitas di wilayah kerja KJRI Ho Chi Minh City.

Today, we honor the legacy of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day—a sacred occasion that pays tribute to the Hùng Kings, the legendary founders of the first Vietnamese state, Văn Lang.

Observed on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, this day reflects the Vietnamese tradition of *“uống nước nhớ nguồn”*—remembering and appreciating those who laid the foundation for generations to come. From offering incense to visiting temples—especially in Phú Thọ—communities across Vietnam come together to honor history and pass down cultural values.

On April 22, 2026, Van Lang University (VLU) had the honor of welcoming Carolina Tinangon, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City for a high-level meeting on advancing strategic educational collaboration. The delegation was warmly received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, President of VLU, along with university's representatives.

🌏The meeting focused on expanding academic cooperation across key areas, including joint research, faculty exchange, and international teaching initiatives. These discussions reflect a shared commitment to fostering meaningful partnerships that enhance academic quality and global engagement.

🎯 Building on a strong foundation of regional collaboration, VLU’s partnership with Indonesian institutions has grown through mutual exchange and shared schemes. VLU students gained valuable international exposure through programs such as the SEFuture Program at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) and the Nursing International Student Week at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) in August 2025. Following these outbound experiences, VLU has continued to strengthen ties by welcoming exchange students from UII and Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), as well as hosting a specialized Nursing Study Tour for UNAIR in November 2025.

🤝 In light of these achievements, the visit by the Consul General serves as a catalyst for further collaboration and expanded opportunities. Ultimately, this engagement marks a meaningful step toward strengthening academic ties and advancing deeper educational integration within the ASEAN region—contributing to a more connected, innovative, and collaborative higher education landscape.
