RMIT Accessibility Design Competition

🎉 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗗𝗖 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 — 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲'𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱!

On 4 October 2025, we concluded this year’s Accessibility Design Competition with an amazing day of creativity, innovation, and inspiration at RMIT Saigon South Campus.

From 12 semi-finalist teams representing 10 universities across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho, the top 4 finalists took the stage to pitch their refined ideas — showing us how accessibility and innovation can truly look like in action.

🎤𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮 — 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘁.

On 23 September, our shortlisted teams had the exclusive opportunity to learn from Ms. Michele Wee, former CEO of Standard Chartered Bank in Vietnam and now Founder & CEO of Who Says I Can’t, on how to craft and deliver a winning pitch.

With years of experience in public speaking and high-stakes communication, Michele shared practical, step-by-step strategies to help teams prepare and present with persuasion, confidence, and impact. Her message was simple yet powerful as our teams gear up for the Finals.

✨ Be well-prepared: Develop a clear and logical presentation with strong content and structure. Take time to understand your audience and tailor your message to their needs and interests. Anticipate possible questions, and always have a back-up plan to manage your time effectively.

✨ Less is more: Keep content and visuals simple, clear, and focused.

✨ Stay calm, confident, and authentic: Use simple and strong language. Be direct and concise in both your pitch and Q&A. If you don’t know something, don’t dwell on it — focus instead on what you do know, and answer with confidence.

✨ Coordinate as a team: Great pitches are never solo acts. Smooth transitions, clear roles, and visible support for one another leave a lasting impression.

✨ Practice, practice, practice: Rehearsals build confidence, sharpen delivery, and polish tone, timing, transitions, and body language.

In the end, a winning pitch is the product of preparation, clarity, teamwork, and practice. But as Ms. Michele reminded everyone, this round is not make-or-break — it’s about growth, experience, and fun. It’s a chance for all participants to push their limits, grow stronger, and enjoy the journey. 🚀

The Finale will begin at 𝟏𝟎:𝟎𝟎 𝐀𝐌 and will be 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐃𝐂 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐞.

In the lead-up to the Finale, from 𝟐𝟒 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 to 𝟐 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫, participants will take part in 𝑴𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑷𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 conducted both online and on-campus at RMIT SGS. Guided by professionals, these sessions will help teams sharpen their English communication and pitching skills, ensuring they are fully prepared for this decisive round.
