The Compassionate Communication workshop in Hanoi campus successfully wrapped up our workshop series for this semester! 🌟

Our student participants had such a meaningful time reflecting on past communication challenges, discovering a new powerful tool and its valuable tips and, most importantly, practicing applying compassionate communication to real-life situations. 🏆

What a day! Yesterday’s Eco Flea Market was a massive success, and we’re so glad you all came out to promote recycling! Some of us didn’t just spice up our wardrobes - we went full-on green! 👗

A whopping 277 unique and adorable items found loving new homes, ready to start their next adventure with you. Vintage gems, quirky finds, and everything in between got a fresh start at the market. ✨

But that's not all! Thanks to your generosity, we also raised an incredible 5,341,466 VND for the Vietnam Fund for Children with Disabilities. Your donations will make a big difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful! 💙

🛡️ 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩: 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 & 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫-𝟏𝟖𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 🛡️

Last week, our dedicated club leaders and the RED Core team had an invaluable opportunity to level up their skills with a specialised training session on child safety, led by Mr. Luke Curran, Child Safety Advisor from the Wellbeing Department. 🌟

Given the importance of organising and supporting events, it’s crucial that we’re prepared to interact safely and responsibly with individuals under 18. This training was all about empowering our leaders with the knowledge they need to create safe and inclusive spaces for everyone.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝:
🔹 RMIT’s commitment to working with under-18s
🔹 Understanding what constitutes child abuse
🔹 Standard operating procedures for clubs working with under-18s
🔹 Best practices for involving under-18s in club activities
🔹 How to report any concerns about under-18s

Through interactive polls, thought-provoking questionnaires, and lively group discussions, our leaders explored the essentials of child safety. We’re confident this training will not only enhance inclusivity in future student activities but also help make RMIT an even safer and more welcoming community. 🤝

Last Wednesday’s Student Club President Forum was absolutely incredible, and we’re still buzzing from the energy! Our passionate leaders from clubs across campus came together to get the latest update and dive into the heart of club engagement and culture. 🔥

Special shoutout to the amazing presidents of RMIT Q***r & Alliance Club - RQAC and Japanese Culture Club JCOR RMIT HN for sharing their inspirational leadership journeys! Their talks ignited lively discussions on nurturing vibrant club cultures. The room was electric as presidents exchanged stories and brainstormed fresh ideas. 💡✨

By the time we wrapped up, new friendships were formed, collabs were set in motion, and everyone left with that "I’m-about-to-change-the-world" gleam in their eyes. 👀

We had a fantastic turnout this Eco Day on 8 August with a total of 167 eco-warriors from RMIT and 12 other companies stepping up to make a difference! Together, we collected 𝟴𝟮𝟱.𝟰 𝗸𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟱𝟬𝟱.𝟯 𝗸𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀, including metal, paper, glass, batteries, nylon, and plastic.

Our DIY workshop was a hit, with many participants creating their own coasters and makeup bags from recycled materials, turning waste into wonders!

🔥 𝐑𝐄𝐃.𝐗: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩 🔥

Last Tuesday and Wednesday, we launched an amazing Escape Room called 𝐑𝐄𝐃.𝐗: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬 🐢, our first event in 2024. By stepping into the shoes of turtles trapped in a laboratory, players would solve puzzles and uncover clues to open the doors and get out.

Thank you to all 11 teams who joined our 2-day inaugural event. Congratulations to Team 𝐌𝐮𝐤𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 and especially Team 𝟒𝐲𝐩𝐮𝐤, who miraculously escaped in just 45 minutes! 🎉

Through this event, we hope participants garnered a deeper insight into the trials of those with disabilities, then everyone cultivated empathy and compassion. Thank you to all who contributed to the triumph of this event!
