On Saturday, 7 February 2026, the RGSV Lunar Festival 2026 took place in a warm and joyful atmosphere, bringing the spirit of the Vietnamese Tet New Year to life across the school campus. The event transformed RGSV into a vibrant cultural space where tradition, creativity, and community came together to welcome the Lunar New Year.

The festival featured a thoughtfully curated selection of Tet-themed stalls and experiences, including traditional Banh Chung, Narcissus flower carving, displays of Vietnamese festive delicacies (Tinh hoa qua Viet), calligraphy writing, and tea ceremony experiences. These activities offered students and families meaningful opportunities to explore the elegance, craftsmanship, and cultural values deeply rooted in Vietnamese Tet traditions.

Throughout the event, students enthusiastically engaged in hands-on cultural experiences that went beyond observation, fostering a deeper appreciation of heritage values, traditional craftsmanship, and the significance of Tet as a time for reunion, gratitude, and new beginnings. The interactive spaces also encouraged connection and shared moments among students, parents, and teachers.

A special highlight of this year’s festival was the Spring Celebration Performance, featuring outstanding performances by RGSV IBDP students (Years 12 & 13). These special performances included traditional and contemporary dance, vocal performances, and presentations of Vietnamese traditional musical instruments, demonstrating artistic maturity, confidence, and creativity. Through their performances, IBDP students proudly showcased their cultural awareness and deep appreciation of Vietnamese identity while embracing a global learning perspective.

The RGSV Lunar Festival 2026 was more than a celebration - it was a meaningful cultural journey that strengthened community bonds and created lasting memories for the entire RGSV family.

Vào Thứ Bảy, ngày 7/2/2026, Lễ hội Tết RGSV 2026 đã được tổ chức trong không khí ấm áp, rộn ràng, mang đậm sắc xuân và tinh thần Tết cổ truyền Việt Nam tại khuôn viên nhà trường. Sự kiện là dịp để cộng đồng RGSV cùng nhau chào đón năm mới và lan tỏa những giá trị văn hóa truyền thống tốt đẹp.

Không gian lễ hội được thiết kế tinh tế với các gian hàng quen thuộc ngày Tết như bánh chưng, khu trải nghiệm tỉa hoa thủy tiên, tinh hoa quà Việt, khu viết thư pháp và trà đạo. Mỗi hoạt động đều mang đến cho học sinh và phụ huynh cơ hội tìm hiểu sâu hơn về nét đẹp văn hóa, sự tỉ mỉ trong thủ công truyền thống cũng như những giá trị tinh thần đặc trưng của ngày Tết Việt.

Thông qua các hoạt động trải nghiệm, học sinh không chỉ được quan sát mà còn trực tiếp tham gia, từ đó nuôi dưỡng sự trân trọng đối với di sản văn hóa dân tộc và ý nghĩa của Tết – thời điểm của đoàn viên, yêu thương và khởi đầu mới.

Điểm nhấn đặc biệt của lễ hội năm nay là Chương trình văn nghệ mừng Xuân với các tiết mục biểu diễn giàu cảm xúc do học sinh chương trình Tú tài Quốc tế (IBDP – Years 12 & 13) đảm nhiệm. Các tiết mục nổi bật bao gồm múa dân gian đương đại, biểu diễn nhạc cụ dân tộc và hòa tấu kết hợp yếu tố truyền thống – hiện đại, thể hiện chiều sâu nghệ thuật, sự tự tin và tinh thần sáng tạo của học sinh IBDP, đồng thời lan tỏa niềm tự hào về bản sắc văn hóa Việt Nam.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing meaningful experiential learning and exposure to university-style teaching, we were delighted to launch our Masterclass Series, delivered by professors from the University of Melbourne.

Five parallel sessions were offered during Period 5 on Friday, each exploring a different area of study. Designed for students in Years 11-13, the masterclasses aimed to provide valuable insights, deepen subject knowledge, and support students in exploring potential pathways as they prepare for life beyond RGSV.

The sessions covered a wide range of engaging and future-focused topics, including Beyond Medicine: Biotechnology Driving Global Health and Sustainability, From Prompt to Profession: Understanding the Impact of AI on Media and Communications, Preparing for Careers in the 21st Century, Designing for Life on Mars in the 20ft Chamber workshop, and Crisis Communications in a Zombie Apocalypse.

We were delighted to receive a great deal of positive feedback from the visiting professors, who praised our students for their high levels of engagement, thoughtful questions, and maturity throughout the sessions.

Over the weekend of 17–18 January 2026, the RGSV Swimming Team, comprising 47 swimmers from Year 4 to Year 12, participated in the UNIS Winter Invitational 2026, hosted at UNIS Hanoi, alongside 14 international school teams from across the city.

Throughout the competition, RGSV swimmers demonstrated a high level of discipline, determination, and professionalism across all events, including both individual and relay races. Thorough preparation, strong team cohesion, and a consistently positive competitive attitude contributed to a highly effective and commendable performance.

At the conclusion of the meet, the RGSV Swimming Team proudly secured second place overall, a result that clearly reflects the swimmers’ technical progress, disciplined approach, and strong sporting spirit developed through their training and competition experience.

Congratulations to all swimmers on completing their events successfully and for continuing to exemplify the spirit of school sport at RGSV.

Trong hai ngày 17 và 18 tháng 1 năm 2026, đội tuyển bơi lội RGSV, với 47 vận động viên từ khối Year 4 đến Year 12, đã tham gia giải UNIS Winter Invitational 2026 được tổ chức tại UNIS Hà Nội, với sự góp mặt của 14 đội tuyển đến từ các trường quốc tế trên địa bàn thành phố.

Trong suốt giải đấu, các vận động viên RGSV đã thể hiện tinh thần thi đấu nghiêm túc, kỷ luật và quyết tâm cao ở tất cả các nội dung thi đấu, bao gồm cả phần thi cá nhân và tiếp sức. Sự chuẩn bị kỹ lưỡng, tinh thần đoàn kết cùng thái độ thi đấu tích cực của toàn đội đã góp phần tạo nên một kỳ thi đấu hiệu quả và đáng ghi nhận.

Kết thúc giải đấu, đội tuyển bơi lội RGSV xuất sắc giành vị trí thứ hai toàn đoàn, một kết quả phản ánh rõ nét sự tiến bộ chuyên môn, ý thức kỷ luật và tinh thần thể thao của các vận động viên trong suốt quá trình tập luyện và thi đấu.

Our Varsity Girls Basketball Team has been crowned HAC Champions, securing the first-ever HAC trophy in RGSV history at the Varsity level - a truly historic milestone.

🏀 This victory marks the third title for the team, following their VISA Championships in 2023 and 2025, and highlights their consistency, resilience, and continued progress.

After a hard-fought opening game against Concordia and a challenging matchup with BVIS, the girls rose to the occasion in the final, playing their strongest basketball of the season in a dominant win over UNIS.

✨ Lịch sử đã được viết nên tại RGSV! ✨

Đội Bóng rổ Nữ Varsity của RGSV đã xuất sắc giành ngôi vị Vô địch HAC, mang về chiếc cúp HAC đầu tiên trong lịch sử nhà trường ở cấp độ Varsity - một dấu mốc mang ý nghĩa đặc biệt.

🏀 Chiến thắng này cũng đánh dấu danh hiệu thứ ba của đội, sau các chức vô địch VISA 2023 và VISA 2025, thể hiện sự ổn định, bản lĩnh và quá trình phát triển bền bỉ của tập thể đội bóng.

Sau trận mở màn đầy nỗ lực trước Concordia và cuộc đối đầu nhiều thử thách với BVIS, các cô gái RGSV đã thi đấu với tinh thần quyết tâm cao nhất trong trận chung kết và giành chiến thắng thuyết phục trước UNIS.

At the upcoming Lunar Festival, pupils and parents will have the opportunity to explore traditional games, cultural activities and Vietnamese customs in a vibrant and festive atmosphere. For our international students in particular, this event provides a meaningful opportunity to learn more about the culture of the country in which they are living and studying.

Reigate Grammar School Vietnam (RGSV) is proud to recognise the outstanding academic achievement of Seung Jin Lee, who was awarded the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award for achieving the highest mark in Viet Nam for Cambridge IGCSE Geography in the May 2025 examination by Cambridge Assessment International Education.

This prestigious recognition reflects his exceptional subject knowledge, analytical ability and sustained academic commitment throughout the IGCSE course. In addition, Seung Jin Lee achieved an impressive 6 A * and 1 A across his IGCSE subjects - the highest overall result within his year group, further highlighting his academic excellence.

Reflecting on receiving this award, Seung Jin shared that he is deeply grateful for the support he received throughout his IGCSE Geography studies, especially from Mr Oliver, whose guidance and dedication greatly supported both him and his classmates. He also expressed his strong passion for Geography, noting that the subject broadened his worldview and was the subject he enjoyed most during IGCSE, and he hopes more students will take an interest in it.

RGSV extends its sincere congratulations to Seung Jin Lee on this remarkable achievement and wishes him continued success in his academic journey.

Bên cạnh đó, Seung Jin Lee còn đạt kết quả ấn tượng với 6 điểm A* và 1 điểm A trong các môn IGCSE - kết quả cao nhất trong toàn khối, tiếp tục khẳng định năng lực học thuật nổi bật của mình.

Chia sẻ về thành tích đạt được, Seung Jin cho biết em vô cùng biết ơn sự hỗ trợ mà mình nhận được trong suốt quá trình học tập môn Địa lý IGCSE, đặc biệt là từ thầy Oliver, người đã luôn tận tâm hướng dẫn và đồng hành cùng em cũng như các bạn trong lớp. Em cũng bày tỏ niềm yêu thích đặc biệt dành cho môn Địa lý, cho rằng môn học đã giúp mở rộng góc nhìn về thế giới và là môn học em yêu thích nhất trong suốt chương trình IGCSE, đồng thời mong muốn ngày càng có nhiều học sinh quan tâm đến môn học này.
