Today, I had the chance to meet one of my Romanian students in person — someone who has been learning Vietnamese with me online for the past year. He came to Vietnam to travel and visit his wife’s family, and still made time to meet me, take me out for lunch, and... completely touched my heart.

He was so thoughtful — not only did he bring me a gift, but he also prepared presents for my mother, my daughter, and my husband. Such small gifts, yet filled with so much warmth and kindness. 🥹💝

We had so many conversations — about culture, hobbies, travel, and life in general. That moment made me love my job even more. Teaching isn’t just about language — it’s about connecting people, building bridges between hearts and cultures. 🌍💬

Today was a special and exciting day as I had the opportunity to meet a new student—a German girl Her husband took her to my house to learn Vietnamese. She is quite shy, so when learning online before, she wasn’t very confident. Taking advantage of her visit to Vietnam to see her in-laws, she decided to meet me in person to get to know me, interact, and try learning some Vietnamese. I could sense her initial shyness, but I also saw her eagerness to learn and explore the language. We had a lighthearted, enjoyable, and encouraging lesson. I hope that after this meeting, she will feel more confident and ready to continue her Vietnamese learning journey when she returns to Germany!

Amid the hustle and bustle of the days leading up to Tết, it is rare to have such a leisurely and relaxing afternoon like today.
I was so happy to finally meet my student from England in person—someone I had only spoken with through Zoom for so long. This was a special trip for them, as they were not only exploring Vietnam but also experiencing the traditional Lunar New Year right here.
During our time together, we had endless conversations, switching between Vietnamese and English. I took them to enjoy **chả cá** at “Vua Chả Cá,” located at **No. 1 Đinh Tiên Hoàng**—one of Hanoi’s most famous specialties. After that, we continued our afternoon with a cup of coffee at Thủy Tạ admiring the beauty of **Hồ Gươm** in the chilly breeze. They were completely fascinated by the scenery, constantly marveling at Hanoi’s **charming blend of antiquity and poetry**.
They were also pleasantly surprised when meeting me in person and couldn’t help but exclaim with a bright smile,
"You look younger in real life than on Zoom!"—a sweet compliment that made me laugh.
Every profession has its own joys, and moments like this make me love **teaching** even more.

Today I taught a Korean boy, he is 12 years old, he is studying at an international school in Vietnam. He really likes learning Vietnamese so he studies very hard during the whole lesson and interacts with the teacher very enthusiastically. He is very smart and remembers lessons very quickly.
