[TOPIC ANNOUNCEMENT]

Welcome to the final meeting of GLN in 2025 titled "US 2025."

As we stand in the opening chapters of 2026, we find ourselves at a unique vantage point. It is often said that we live life forward, but we understand it backward. Today is dedicated to that understanding—an opportunity to pause, evaluate, and articulate the transformative journey we each undertook over the past twelve months.

The year 2025 was not merely a sequence of dates; it was a canvas upon which we painted our ambitions, faced unforeseen challenges, and cultivated new facets of our identities. For some, it may have been a year of professional breakthroughs or academic milestones; for others, perhaps it was a period of quiet, internal growth and the resilience required to navigate change.
In this workshop, we move beyond superficial "small talk." We are here to practice the art of narrative—to transform our personal experiences into shared wisdom. By articulating our 2025 journey, we give weight to our experiences and honor the progress we have made.

As we revisit the triumphs and the tribulations of the previous year, we do so with a dual purpose: to acknowledge the people we became in 2025, and to use those insights as a foundation for our aspirations in 2026. Let us engage in this exchange with sincerity, curiosity, and a commitment to mutual growth for GLN.

[TOPIC ANNOUNCEMENT]

Every day, we’re faced with a thousand tiny decisions: how we respond, what we prioritize, and even what we choose to leave unsaid. Individually, they feel small. But over time, these choices become the foundation of our careers and our character.

This weekend at GLN, we dive into the power of small choices. We’ll explore the 'why' behind our hardest decisions and learn how a little more awareness can lead to a much bigger impact on our lives. Now it’s your small choice to show up and spark some great conversations.

And as you may already know, Tet is just around the corner, which means we’ll be wrapping up the night with a Year-end Party. So… let’s get it! 🎉

[TOPIC ANNOUNCEMENT]

Perhaps we have never lived in a world that has been changing as rapidly as it is today. Science and technology, such as AI has dominated our lives day after day and forced us to transform to adapt or risk being left behind. Given this context, our decisions carry great magnitude, and more often than not, we may feel regret after making them, whispering to ourselves that we could do better. On those occasions, contrary to our thinking, it's better to slow down and appreciate what we have.

So, if you feel uncertain about yourself and about the upcoming challenge ahead in 2026, let’s come with us to discuss and find peace together.

[TOPIC ANNOUNCEMENT]

Negative habits, thoughts, and behaviors that slowly stop us from growing are our hidden enemies. They follow us in our daily lives and live in our minds and our actions; however, we rarely notice them. We think everything is normal, but these enemies quietly control our choices and our decisions, they stop us from doing new things, moving forward, keep us stuck, and they make learning harder than it's supposed to be.

So who they really are, and why they are so harmful. Let's come to GLN this week to list them out, and together we help each other find the ways or solutions to defeat or fight against them.

It can be exhilarating to entertain the thought of doing new things, meeting new people, going to new places, and getting new opportunities. New year, new me, that's how the saying goes.

Dear members, due to the host's urgent change of schedule, the topic "Stressor" has been delayed to this week. This is the repost of the topic:

[TOPIC ANNOUNCEMENT]

We all face stress at some point — whether it’s juggling deadlines, dealing with personal challenges, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands. But what really causes stress? Is it the situations we find ourselves in, or the way we respond to them? Why do certain events leave us feeling rushed, uncertain, or judged? What’s behind that sudden rush of anxiety, or the pressure that seems to build out of nowhere?

Could it be that stress isn’t always about what happens, but about how we interpret and react to it? And when stress starts to take over, what can we do to regain control? Are there simple techniques that can make a difference, or is it all about big-picture strategies?

Let’s uncover the power we have to stay calm, cool, and collected, no matter what life throws our way!

06/12/2025

[TOPIC ANNOUNCEMENT]

It’s that time of the year when we talk about relationships, not only romantic ones, but also friendships and workplace connections. We interact with people every day, and the way we build and maintain these relationships shapes our happiness, our success, and even our future.

So, this Saturday’s discussion is a chance for us to share perspectives, learn from one another, and of course, practice English in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
There are no right or wrong answers, just come to GLN, listen actively, and enjoy the conversation. See you soon!
