On 10 May, 2024, the EAUT Faculty of English Conference 2024 with the theme: “Enhancing students’ motivation, interaction, participation and production in EFL classrooms” was successfully organized at East Asia University of Technology, Hanoi.

The conference was an excellent platform for English language lecturers and English major students to get updated about effective modern pedagogical techniques to improve the quality of English language teaching in various contexts, especially in tertiary education.

The conference was a resounding success with the presence of speakers, guests, lecturers, and students from different departments and universities in Hanoi, such as Swinburne University Vietnam, Political Academy of People's Public Security, Academy of Journalism and Communication, and East Asia University of Technology.

Papers presented at the conference will undergo a rigorous single-blind peer review process before being published in the conference proceedings.

We're very pleased to announce the EAUT Faculty of English Conference 2024, which will take place on Friday, May 10th, 2024 at East Asia University of Technology in Hanoi!

With the theme "Enhancing students' motivation, participation, interaction, and production in EFL classrooms", the conference will feature a range of interesting talks by speakers from different universities.

On 22 April, 2024, students at the Faculty of English, East Asia University of Technology (English@EAUT) attended the EarthDay Event organized by the American Center Hanoi on Ngoc Khanh Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.

In the event, students had a great opportunity to learn about the current situation of plastic pollution in the world in general and in Vietnam in particular, the reasons behind the increased amount of plastic waste in Vietnam as well as the severe consequences of plastic waste and microplastics when they are released into the environment. More importantly, there were also suggestions on measures to reduce plastic waste, such as using cloth or secondhand bags.

The event raised the students’ awareness of environmental protection in general and of the importance of reducing plastic waste in particular.

“The event was really fun with interesting and meaningful activities. It would be great if more people could attend it”, said Can Thi Trang, a student of .

“After participating in a lot of activities throughout the event, I gain a better understanding of the issue of plastic pollution along with several solutions to tackle this problem. I find this event extremely useful and meaningful”, said Tran Thi Lanh, another student of .

Ms. Pham Minh Chau, a lecturer of who accompanied the students to the event along with Ms. Nguyen Quynh Chi, said: “I find the event very meaningful, helping to improve the understanding of the community in general and young people in particular about the issue of plastic waste pollution. I hope there will be more practical and meaningful programs like this so that the environment will always be green, clean, beautiful and our country will develop sustainably.”
