Learning Through Observation and Creativity at HIK! 👁️🎨

Today was a fun and engaging day of learning at Hanoi International Kindergarten (HIK)! In the morning, the children focused on literacy activities through a playful “Look at Me” and I Spy game. These activities encouraged the children to observe carefully and describe what they could see, helping to develop vocabulary, speaking confidence, and early literacy skills. The students also completed a worksheet about eye colours, strengthening their recognition skills and supporting early reading development.

In the afternoon, creativity took center stage as the children designed their own crazy face portraits using googly eyes. This fun craft activity encouraged imagination, artistic expression, and fine motor development, while reinforcing their understanding of eyes and facial features in a playful and memorable way. The classroom was filled with laughter as each child proudly shared their unique creations! 🎨👁️

At HIK, we believe in combining hands-on activities, language development, and creative expression to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. Through interactive lessons and engaging projects, children build confidence, curiosity, and essential skills for their early learning journey.

A Wonderful Day of Learning in Hamster/K1! 🐛🦋🐞

Today in Hamster/K1, we had another exciting day continuing our Minibeasts theme! The morning began with our circle time, followed by a calm and mindful colouring activity. This quiet moment helped the children relax, improve focus, and gently prepare for the day’s learning ahead. 🎨🧘‍♀️

Afterwards, we headed outdoors to enjoy the fresh air and playground time. Outdoor play allows children to explore their surroundings, develop gross motor skills, and build confidence through movement and discovery. 🌿☀️

Back in the classroom, we enjoyed reading the beloved story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar.” The children were fully engaged as they followed the caterpillar’s journey and eagerly discussed the different foods and events in the story. 🐛🍎

To deepen their understanding, the children worked on sequencing the story using flashcards, helping them practice remembering what happened first, next, and last. They also did a fantastic job retelling the story in their own words, strengthening language development, memory, and confidence in speaking. 👏📚

Next, the class collaborated to complete a Hungry Caterpillar puzzle, showing wonderful teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. 🧩🤝

Later in the day, we explored minibeast habitats, discussing where different creatures live. The children used their creativity to design and build their own habitats, which will soon be displayed in our classroom. This activity encouraged imagination, scientific curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the natural world. 🐜🌱
