FOREIGN TRADE UNIVERSITY EMBARKS ON A NEW CHAPTER WITH THE LAUNCH OF FOUR COLLEGES
Foreign Trade University (FTU) officially launched four colleges during a ceremony held on Monday, 3rd August 2026, marking a significant milestone in the University's ongoing institutional development and reaffirming its commitment to becoming a multidisciplinary, research-oriented university with stronger global engagement.
The four newly established colleges are the College of Economics and Public Management, the College of Business, the Vietnam–Japan College of Business and Innovation, and the College of Law and Political Science. The University also introduced the leadership teams of the four colleges, who will guide their academic and strategic development under FTU's new organizational model.
The launch of these colleges represents an important step in FTU's strategic transformation. Building on the University's long-standing strengths in economics, business, law, and international affairs, the new structure is designed to enhance academic excellence, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, strengthen research capacity, and expand partnerships with universities, industries, and organizations around the world.
The college model also reflects FTU's efforts to keep pace with global trends in higher education. By providing greater academic autonomy and encouraging closer connections between education, research, and practice, the University aims to create a more dynamic academic environment that equips students and faculty to address emerging global challenges while generating meaningful impact for society.
The establishment of the four colleges marks the first phase of FTU's broader institutional roadmap. In the coming years, the University plans to establish three additional colleges—the College of Finance and Accounting, the College of Languages, Culture and Arts, and the College of Technology and Data Science—completing a seven-college structure that will further strengthen FTU's multidisciplinary foundation and international outlook.
As FTU continues its journey of innovation and development, the new college model will serve as a key driver in advancing the University's vision of becoming one of Asia's leading universities—creating knowledge, nurturing future leaders, and contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam, the region, and the world.
