On March 3rd, students from Concordia International School Hanoi’s student-led initiative, Leaf It To Us (LITU), traveled to Pu Mat National Park and Tuong Duong, Nghe An, to take part in TreeBank’s “Flood-Resilient Bamboo Shield” project alongside local communities. 🪵🚌 What began as a planting trip became a meaningful journey of learning, connection, and service. Students worked hand-in-hand with local residents to plant bamboo along vulnerable riverbanks as part of a long-term ecological and livelihood initiative designed to strengthen flood resilience in Western Nghe An. 🎋🌏 As part of the 2026 Community Tree Planting Day campaign, nearly 21,000 bamboo trees were mobilized through the support of businesses, organizations, schools, and thousands of individuals across Vietnam. Leaf It To Us partnered with Austdoor to contribute 900 bamboo trees to the project. 🤝🌱 Beyond environmental protection, the initiative highlighted the importance of sustainable livelihoods and community collaboration. Students had the opportunity to learn more about the forests of Nghe An, experience local culture firsthand, and better understand how nature-based solutions can support communities facing increasingly severe natural disasters. ⛰️💚

“At Concordia, we believe learning extends far beyond the classroom,” shared the Leaf It To Us student team. “This experience reminded us that even small actions, when done together, can create meaningful impact for both people and the environment.” 🗣️✨

Middle school transitions don’t have to be scary! 😱 This past year, counselor Mrs. Linda Bloemberg launched a brand-new initiative that paired incoming 5th graders with 7th-grade mentors. 👋🎒The older students went way beyond just helping the elementary kids find their way around the halls. The transition from Elementary to Middle School is famously one of the most daunting milestones in a child’s educational journey. New hallways, tougher expectations, and a completely different social environment can easily overwhelm incoming students.

What a great way to wrap up the year! A big thank you to our wonderful 7th-grade students and teachers who made our last week of school unforgettable by serving others 🤗💚. The team traveled to Ba Vi for the day to paint murals and connect with Thai Hoa Secondary Students through games and play 🎨. We are grateful to Thai Hoa School for making this possible and planning the day. Seeing our school communities partner together to create meaningful learning opportunities and lasting connections for students from both schools was a powerful reflection of collaboration and community. 🥹✨

Huge shoutout to our wonderful 8th-grade students and teachers! 🤗💚 Last week, the team traveled to Sa Pa to connect with kindergarten children at the Su Pan school through sports and gifts, and then rolled up their sleeves at Nam Sai Farm. Working through the heat, they tilled soil and prepared crops to directly support a local family’s livelihood. So proud of their incredible work ethic and hearts for service! ⛰️🌱✨

Yesterday marked our final ES and MS assemblies of the year 👏. Just like that, the time has officially come to close out another amazing school year! 🔔 As we waved goodbye to the kids today for Summer break, we couldn't help but feel incredibly proud of everything they’ve accomplished 🏆🌟. We are wishing our entire community a wonderful Summer filled with safe travels, relaxation 🌊🌴, and plenty of quality time spent with loved ones. 💛✨ See you next school year! ☀️👋

🏐Our Middle School Volleyball Teams recently traveled to Ho Chi Minh City for the annual ASAC Junior Volleyball Tournament! 🏐💥 While our girls secured a solid 5th place 🏆 and our boys earned a hard-fought 4th place finish 🏆, the true victory wasn’t found in the standings! ✨ For our athletes, ASAC is a vital opportunity to connect with a larger global community 🤝, practice ultimate sportsmanship 🙌❤️, and grow as individuals 💪. We are incredibly proud of how they represented our school both on and off the court! 🏫🦅🌟
