🎓 Before officially stepping into university life, Gen 8 had the opportunity to get familiar with their new environment through their first activities at Swinburne Vietnam.

💃 From dance practices and rehearsals with student clubs to social and networking activities, Gen 8 gradually discovered new experiences, made new friends, and got a glimpse into student life at Swinburne.

🎤 Practising with the clubs also gave Gen 8 the chance to try things they had never done before, work together to prepare for upcoming performances, and create their first memories together.

🗣️ During their first meet-ups, Gen 8 also took part in games, challenged themselves with debate activities, and shared their perspectives. These activities created a welcoming atmosphere where students could express their personalities, get to know one another, and enjoy meaningful conversations.

✨ Every new challenge and every step outside their comfort zone brings something new for Gen 8 to discover. These first days are gradually becoming memories of their own, marking the moment they begin to experience university life.

📸 Let’s look back at Gen 8’s memorable moments and get ready for all the exciting experiences ahead!

🔧 What changes when students have access to more advanced tools, platforms and testing facilities for their projects?

🎓 In this video, Swinburne students currently working on projects at the Swinburne Innovation Lab share their first impressions of the new Qualcomm x Arduino x Swinburne Innovation Lab - from embedded systems and AI-enabled hardware to prototyping, fabrication and testing equipment.

🤖 For students developing projects in IoT, AIoT, Robotics and Embedded Systems, these new technologies open up more possibilities to move beyond basic prototypes, experiment with more complex functions and improve how their systems perform in real-world conditions.

💡 More importantly, the Lab gives students greater freedom to test new ideas, solve technical challenges and continuously upgrade their projects — whether by adding computer vision, smarter automation, stronger processing capabilities or more complete physical prototypes.

🚀 Hear directly from Swinburne students about the equipment that impressed them most and how the Lab can help take their current and future projects to the next level.

💥 Swinburne Vietnam and Qualcomm have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and officially inaugurated the Qualcomm x Arduino Innovation Lab – the first Arduino Lab in Southeast Asia.

🔥 The Lab provides students with opportunities to directly explore and experiment with emerging technologies, while developing projects across areas including Internet of Things (IoT), embedded systems, AIoT, robotics and smart automation. Through hands-on learning, students can strengthen their practical skills and apply knowledge from the classroom to real-world challenges.

🔍 What does it take to turn a technology lab into a space for real innovation?

🎓 In this video, Dr David Hoang, Director of FPT International Institute & Swinburne Vietnam, introduces the vision behind the Qualcomm x Arduino x Swinburne Innovation Lab - a research and hands-on environment designed for IoT, Embedded Systems, AIoT and Robotics.

🤝 Developed through collaboration between Swinburne Vietnam, Qualcomm and Arduino, with FPT Software as a partner, the Lab brings together globally recognised technology ecosystems, advanced hardware platforms and industry expertise in one learning environment.

💡 More importantly, the Lab changes how students engage with technology. Instead of learning concepts only through lectures or simulations, students can work directly with industry-grade platforms, build and test prototypes, solve increasingly complex real-world problems, and develop projects across areas such as autonomous vehicles, smart agriculture, robotics, industrial automation, UAVs and computer vision.

🚀 Through this hands-on, project-based approach, students do not simply learn how emerging technologies work — they learn how to apply them, experiment with them and turn ideas into working solutions.

▶️ Watch Dr David Hoang take us inside the Lab and explore what this new learning environment can open up for Swinburne students.
