[PHASE 2 INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE IN DESIGNING PROGRAMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUTCOME-BASED EDUCATION IN HANOI]

👉 From January 12 to 14, 2024, VNU-CEA coordinated with The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) to organize phase 2 of the Constructive Alignment and Technology Enhanced Project Outcome-Based Education (CATE) ). Previously, phase 1 of the Project was organized online via Zoom Meeting in July 2023. Phase 2 of the Project was held for 3 days in Hanoi according to on-site training.

💐 Participants are auditors and lecturers from 09 member universities of VNU, 03 Regional Universities, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Van Lang University, and Vietnam National University of Agriculture.

🌺 During the 3-day on-site training, participants will share experiences in implementing activities carried out in Phase 1; Develop and guide the implementation of training plans at educational institutions with 02 experts from Nottingham University, Malaysia. Participants from Laos will attend the training course online.

[PREPARATION FOR PHASE 2 INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE IN DESIGNING PROGRAMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUTCOME-BASED EDUCATION FOR VIETNAM AND LAOS]

👉 On the morning of December 18, 2023, VNU-CEA's staff coordinated with 02 lecturers from the University of Nottingham - Malaysia - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rajit to hold a meeting to prepare some activities for Phase 2 via the Microsoft Teams platform.

💐 At the meeting, the group leaders updated the current situation of each group's project implementation process, sharing practical experiences when implementing new educational methods at higher education institution. In addition, 02 lecturers from the University of Nottingham - Malaysia also informed about 3-day onsite training in Phase 2 will be held in mid-January 2024 in Hanoi.

[PREPARATION MEETING FOR PHASE 2 INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE IN DESIGNING PROGRAMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUTCOME-BASED EDUCATION FOR VIETNAM AND LAOS]

👉 On the morning of December 18, 2023, The Center for Education Accreditation - Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-CEA) coordinated with lecturers from the University of Nottingham - Malaysia to hold a meeting to prepare for implementing activities for Phase 2 of the training course to improve the capacity for designing training programs with Outcome Based Education (OBE) for the assessors and tutors for Vietnam and Laos.

🌻 Attending the meeting, there was Dr. Ta Thi Thu Hien - Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Toan - Deputy Director, Dr. Tran Huu Luong - Head of the Division of Cooperation and Development, and 02 lecturers from the University of Nottingham - Malaysia - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Roz and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rajit, along with all organizing committee members of the project.

🌹 At the meeting, VNU-CEA and lecturers from the University of Nottingham - Malaysia discussed and agreed on some contents related to the review of the work done by the group of lecturers with the 6 groups, the Mid-term report, and planning to prepare for the project's phase 2 implementation (time, location, notes for lecturer groups,...).

🌺 Phase 1: Trainees whose assessors and lecturers (training for source trainers) participate in online training for 07 days. It is expected that the 3-day onsite training in Phase 2 will be held in mid-January 2024.

[LAST TRAINING DAY IN THE INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE IN DESIGNING PROGRAMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUTCOME-BASED EDUCATION FOR VIETNAM AND LAOS]

🎉 On August 1, 2023, the last training day in Project “Constructive Alignment and Technology-Enhanced Outcome-Based Education: Quality Assurance for Continuing Quality Improvement (CATE) took place with the exchange topic "Implementing CATE-OBE" and Group Presentation. The trainees were extremely active in exchanging and sharing their insights on related topics, as well as listening to the instructions and sharing of the trainers.

✨ Phase 1 of the training course has ended. Soon will be Phase 2 of the Training Course: Learning by Doing. Phase 2 will conduct a performance evaluation and continue training with project experts (face-to-face), expected to be held in the 1st quarter of 2024.

[OPENING INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE IN DESIGNING PROGRAMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUTCOME-BASED EDUCATION FOR VIETNAM AND LAOS]

👉 On July 24, 2023, VNU-CEA organized the opening ceremony of the international training course in designing the program in accordance with outcome-based education for assessors and lecturers of Vietnam and Laos. This is an activity under the Project “Constructive Alignment and Technology-Enhanced Outcome-Based Education: Quality Assurance for Continuing Quality Improvement (CATE)”, sponsored by The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), cooperation between VNU-CEA and The Center for Academic Partnerships and Engagement - CAPE of the University of Nottingham - Malaysia and the National University of Laos.

📌 The trainees participating in the training course are assessors and lecturers from the National University of Laos, 09 VNU’s member universities and schools, 03 Regional Universities, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, Van Lang University, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture, etc. The Opening Ceremony was held online via the MS Teams platform.

✨ The training is held from July 2023 to April 2024, divided into 2 phases. In phase 1, the course focuses on training for source students (online) to support and develop the system at educational institutions. After that, phase 2 will conduct a performance evaluation and continue training with project experts (face-to-face).

Constructive Alignment and Technology-Enhanced Outcome-Based Education: Quality Assurance for Continuing Quality Improvement (CATE) Vietnam and Laos, June 2023 – May 2024.

📌 Programme Objective: The Programme contributes to the continuing quality improvement of programs and courses by bridging the gap between ‘paper’ and ‘practice’ of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). It uses Constructive Alignment (CA) to improve course design by incorporating good pedagogical practices and learning technologies to enhance student learning and increase success.

- Phase 1: July 2023 - December 2023
- Phase 2: January 2024 - April 2024

👨‍🏫 Trainers: From The University of Nottingham Malaysia, VNU Center for Education Accreditation and supported by QA experts from Vietnam National University, Hanoi

💵 Tuition fee: The tuition fee is funded by INQAAHE and subsidized by VNU Centre for Education Accreditation.

📜 Certificate: A participation certificate will be jointly awarded by VNU Center for Education Accreditation and Nottingham University Malaysia.

🧑‍🎓 Who could join the program? The core requirements are:
- Degree-level English proficiency;
- Minimum of five years (5) experience as an academic in a higher education institution;
- Currently an active assessor or a potential assessor;
- Able to commit approximately 136 hours in total in the next 10 months;
- Passionate about quality assurance & commitment to cascaded training in OBE in the future.
