The UVA Club of Vietnam - Hanoi invites you to join us for our Summer Social, where you can have some summer fun and make new UVA memories.

All alumni, new students, current students, friends, and families are invited. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with old friends and welcome new students and their families to the Wahoo community before the new school year begins. Our event is hosted by Professors Spencer Phillips (Col '85) and Ngo Huong.
We'll provide snacks and soft drinks (please register so we have a good count) and The Bottle Shop has a wide selection of other drinks to choose from.

Hanoi Friends: I and the UVA Club of Vietnam - Hanoi invite you to stop by The Bottle Shop THIS FRIDAY (13/01) from 6-8-ish to help our University of Virginia Study Abroad students bid farewell to Vietnam. (Please use the signup below to get a head count.)
Our program, called "Vietnam: An Ecological-Economic Exploration)" started on 31/12 in HCMC, stopped in Dalat, and wraps up here in Hanoi. We've been planting mangroves, looking at small-and large-scale industrial development, processing and making coffee, WWOOFING, helping Keep Vietnam Clean, and meeting with government, NGO, and business leaders. We'd love to meet and greet you and add one more memory of Vietnam as we all head back for the spring semester.

UVA's Education Abroad Program ("Vietnam: an Ecological-Economic Exploration") is back. After Exploring our way from HCMC to Dalat to Hanoi, our final event is happy hour at The Bottle Shop.

Did you know that UVa now has a January Term course in Vietnam? Offered for the first time in 2020, Vietnam: an Ecological-Economic Exploration is a two-week learning experience that began in Ho Chi Minh City, stopped in Dalat and on Cat Ba Island, and ended here in Hanoi. We considered the challenges of sustainability, social advancement, and economic development through experiences ranging from factory and farm tours, NGO roundtables, briefings by Ministry officials, and of course experiencing the culture and landscapes of Vietnam.
We capped the course with a happy hour including several local alumni and are making plans to do so again in 2021. So save 15 Jan 2021 on your calendar and keep fingers crossed that travel is permitted and the course can proceed as scheduled. (If not, we'll be looking at May Term or J-term 2022 for a next iteration.)
