A Founding Family Story

Having recently relocated from the UK, one of our founding families was looking for a school that felt familiar in its values, while offering their children an exciting new beginning in Hanoi.

“We’re excited to watch them build confidence, embrace the local culture, and make friends in such a supportive community.”

For their family, joining Rugby School Hanoi from the very beginning is a chance to be part of something lasting — and for their children, a place to belong, discover and thrive.

Their Rugby journey begins this August.

The campus is ready. Now, we wait for you.

The classrooms are ready.
The books are on the shelves.
The music room is waiting for its first notes.
The spaces are ready for stories, questions, friendships and discovery.

In less than two weeks, these quiet rooms will come to life as Rugby School Hanoi welcomes its first students.

For our Founding Cohort, this will be more than the beginning of a new school year. It will be the beginning of Rugby School Hanoi.

24 August 2026.
We are ready.

With the new school year approaching, we continue to welcome prospective families for private campus visits and individual meetings with our teachers and school leadership, by appointment.

The classrooms are ready. The teachers are here. And Rugby School Hanoi is coming to life.

Thank you to all the families who joined us for our Meet Our Teachers morning.

It was a pleasure to welcome families into our classrooms, introduce our teaching team, and give children the opportunity to experience the spaces where they will soon learn, play and grow.

With our classrooms and specialist spaces now taking shape, the morning offered a glimpse of what everyday life at Rugby School Hanoi will soon look like — not simply through the facilities, but through the people, relationships and learning that will fill them.

We are now counting down to welcoming our first students and beginning Rugby School Hanoi's founding year.

Every family chooses a school for different reasons.

For one of our Founding Families, it was Rugby School Hanoi's belief that education is about far more than academic success. It is about nurturing character, kindness, curiosity and a genuine love of learning.

As they prepare for the first year of school, their hope is a simple one: that their child looks forward to coming to school each morning, builds lasting friendships, and always feels happy, safe and encouraged to be themselves.

We are honoured that so many families are choosing to begin this journey with us as we build a community that future generations will be proud to call their own.

What makes a child feel safe at school?

When families visit Rugby School Hanoi, they often notice the campus first.

The bright classrooms.
The Banyan Tree Library.
The Dragon Cave, a quiet space where children can read or simply take a moment to themselves.

But a safe school is about much more than the building.

It is about the people inside it.

Every morning, children are greeted by adults who know their names.

As they move between classrooms, the library, music, sport and outdoor learning, they are always accompanied by members of staff.

If a child finds saying goodbye difficult, seems quieter than usual, or simply needs a little extra reassurance, someone notices.

At the end of the day, every child is collected by an authorised adult, and every visitor follows our safeguarding procedures before entering the school.

None of these moments is extraordinary.

But together, they help children feel secure enough to ask questions, make friends, try new things and enjoy learning.

Because before children can flourish, they need to know one thing:

I am known. I am safe. I am cared for.

A beautiful campus is important.
The people inside it matter even more.

This Saturday, we'd love to introduce you to the teachers who will welcome Rugby School Hanoi's very first students.

Spend the morning exploring our classrooms, meeting our experienced teaching team, and seeing how learning comes to life through storytelling, music, creative play and hands-on activities.

If you're still considering schools for your child, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience not just our campus, but the people who will guide, encourage and inspire your child's first years of learning.

Meet one of our Founding Families – a Korean family whose daughter will be joining our Pre-Nursery this August.

Every family has their own reason for choosing Rugby School Hanoi, and we are honoured to share some of the stories behind their decision.

For this family, it was Rugby School's long-standing traditions and global reputation that gave them confidence in choosing the school for their daughter.

As parents of a two-year-old, their greatest hope is simple: that she feels safe, cared for and happy as she begins her very first school experience. They hope her first year is filled with laughter, friendship and joyful memories that she will carry with her for years to come.

Being one of Rugby School Hanoi's Founding Families is, in their words, "a tremendous honour and a source of immense pride". They are excited to be part of the very beginning of the school's story, and we are grateful to have them on this journey with us.

Thank you to this family for sharing your story.

Good habits begin with small, everyday moments.

A big thank you to all the parents who joined our latest Rugby Table workshop with Mr Mark Symmonds, Head of Pre-Prep.

Together, we explored practical ways to help young children build good habits, develop self-regulation and grow in confidence through clear boundaries, consistency and positive relationships.

Thank you for being part of the conversation. We look forward to welcoming you again at Meet Our Teachers on Saturday, 8 August.

Behind every great school are great teachers.

Long before a child remembers a classroom or a lesson, they remember the teacher who made them feel safe, inspired their curiosity, and believed in them.

Before Rugby School Hanoi welcomes its first students this August, we invite you to meet the educators who will shape the beginning of that journey.

Join us for a special Meet Our Teachers morning, where you'll have the opportunity to get to know our Head of Pre-Prep and founding teaching team—experienced educators from leading British and international schools across the United Kingdom, the United States, New Zealand, Germany and beyond.

Children are invited to enjoy a morning of storytelling, music, creative play, sport and hands-on activities with our teachers, while parents can explore our classrooms, learn more about our curriculum, and discover what a typical day at Rugby School Hanoi will look like.

Most importantly, you'll have time to ask questions, have conversations and experience the people who will guide, encourage and support your child's first years of learning.

With more than 20 years of teaching and leadership experience, Ms Alison shares what inspires her as an educator, why she is passionate about giving children the very best start to their educational journey, and what excites her most about joining Rugby School Hanoi as our Early Years Lead.

We hope you'll enjoy getting to know Ms Alison a little better as we prepare to welcome our founding families this August.
