Let me flag a few common pitfalls you might hit when introducing yourself in English, broken into three levels.
English-learner “boss” intros, by level
Level 1: Bare-minimum survival
“My name Toei… student… Hanoi… I… like music… uh… finish.”
Traits:
Choppy answers, lots of silence, sometimes even answering the wrong question
Ultra-basic vocabulary: name, age, “student,” “from…”
Broken grammar: one-clause sentences, tense and verb errors
Hard-to-catch pronunciation: misplaced stress, missing final sounds
Level 2: Can communicate, but bumpy
“I’m Englis, first-year Finance student in Hanoi. I like learning with short news because it’s very interesting and it help me improve vocabulary. In this semester I try to speak more with my friends.”
Traits:
There’s a clear thread, but it’s stop-and-go with lots of self-correction
Vocabulary is serviceable but repetitive: “like,” “very,” “interesting” on loop
Longer sentences, yet steady mistakes with tense, singular/plural, half-built relative clauses
Pronunciation is understandable, but /s/ vs /ʃ/ and /tʃ/ vs /tr/ get mixed up; flat intonation
Level 3: Confident, natural, with some depth
“I’m Bone, a first-year Finance student at AOF in Hanoi. Outside class, I turn news briefs into three-line summaries to build vocabulary and stay curious. Over the next year, I’d love to do a study-abroad semester, so IELTS is my short-term checkpoint.”
Traits: At this point you’re cruising. Smooth, clear, and engaging enough that you’d blend in just fine.

1. Is Trump actively positioning himself as a Nobel Peace Prize contender?
Trump has repeatedly said he deserves the Nobel and treats it as a political goal.
That said, the Nobel Committee dislikes public lobbying; this approach typically doesn’t improve one’s chances.
2. What initiatives or actions has Trump taken related to current conflicts (especially Gaza/Israel)?
Gaza/Israel: Trump proposed a “20-point plan.” Hamas has reportedly accepted parts of it and expressed willingness to discuss releasing all hostages. Trump has urged Israel to pause airstrikes to enable a safe exchange. Core issues like demilitarization and post-war governance remain unresolved.
Negotiating climate: The situation is widely described as “cautiously optimistic,” with no binding breakthrough for the next phase.
“Ending seven wars” claim: Trump’s repeated assertion has been assessed by fact-checkers as exaggerated or misleading; some cases cited were not full-scale “wars.”
3. What might support the case for Trump?
Reducing violence and saving hostages: Moving talks on hostage releases and an initial ceasefire forward, which can help protect civilian lives.
Agenda-setting impact: Pressuring parties to put a hostage-exchange framework on the table, signaling de-escalation amid prolonged tensions.
4. Why doesn’t he yet meet the bar?
Incomplete outcomes: Hamas has only “partially” agreed; there’s no binding deal, enforcement mechanism, or long-term security framework.
Contested record: The “six–seven wars ended” narrative is widely challenged, weakening the substance of any Nobel case.
Nobel norms: The committee values independence and discretion; overt campaigning is usually a negative.
5. What does Trump want, and how likely is it?
Goal: To attach his name to a peace agreement with a clear personal imprint, strengthening the “peacemaker” image and improving Nobel viability.
Prospects:
Short term: Low, unless there is a binding agreement, full hostage release, and a durable security architecture.
Medium term: If those concrete milestones are achieved and violence declines steadily over multiple quarters, the chances of serious consideration rise. For now, it remains “cautious hope.”

In the early hours of October 5, 2025, Russia launched a large-scale strike on Ukraine with more than 50 missiles and roughly 500 attack drones across nine regions. At least five people were killed and over a dozen injured as civilian and energy infrastructure were hit. Lviv suffered the worst damage, with four members of one family killed and extended power outages, while Zaporizhzhia reported another death and tens of thousands of homes without electricity. With the risk of spillover, NATO neighbors such as Poland raised alert levels and scrambled jets to reinforce air defense. President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the international community to rapidly provide additional air defenses and increase pressure to halt the air attacks, opening space for real diplomacy.
📨 NOTE
Escalation (n)
collocations: military escalation, escalate tensions/conflict
example: The overnight strikes marked a dangerous escalation of the conflict, undermining diplomatic efforts.
Barrage (n)
collocations: a barrage of drones/missiles, a barrage of criticism
example: Authorities reported a sustained barrage of drones targeting energy facilities across several regions.
Spillover (n)
collocations: spillover effects into neighboring states/markets, regional spillover
example: The attacks raised fears of security spillover into neighboring countries, prompting heightened alerts.

That’s obvious.
“Duhhh.”

🌪️ 1. Devastating = very, very damaging
Example: A devastating storm broke my house.
Trick: Think “devastate = destroy” → both start with “de-”.
🌧️ 2. Torrential rain = crazy heavy rain
Example: I can’t go out in torrential rain.
Trick: “Torrential” sounds like “torrent” = a huge flow of water.
🌊 3. Storm surge = sea water rising high
Example: The storm surge flooded the beach.
Trick: Picture a wave surging forward → surge = push up/forward.
🌬️ 4. Gale-force winds = super strong winds
Example: Gale-force winds blew off my hat.
Trick: “Gale” sounds like “gào” (shout in Vietnamese) → winds shouting loud.
⚡ 5. Disruption = big interruption
Example: The storm caused travel disruption.
Trick: “Disruption” = “dis + rupture” → something breaks apart.

Recent meta-analyses by an international team of scientists suggest that cosmic dust—the basic building material for stars and planets—is far more porous than previously assumed. Rather than being compact, rock-like grains, these particles resemble soft, sponge-like aggregates riddled with tiny voids. Drawing on observations, laboratory experiments, and space missions such as Rosetta, the team reports porosities exceeding 99%.
This highly porous architecture dramatically increases surface area, creating favorable sites for complex chemical reactions in space. Such reactions may be pivotal for the formation of organic molecules, the fundamental precursors to life. The finding substantially reshapes our understanding of how molecules form and evolve in astrophysical environments, shedding fresh light on life’s possible origins.
That said, debate continues. Some models argue that extremely porous dust might be too cold or mechanically fragile to match current observations of interstellar clouds. Further observations, experiments, and modeling will be needed to clarify the true nature and role of cosmic dust.
