Have you ever heard of the ancient (and now UNESCO) Thai dancing called Nora? The dancers mimic a bird god and every move is based on the natural world weaving together an intricate story passed along through dance :)

🇻🇳 I AM BACK IN VIETNAM! 🇻🇳
(and ready to continue the wildlife education mission!)
It feels so great to be here in Vietnam again to start this next chapter in life after many fond, proud and incredible memories of my time here before.
Almost 7 years ago I was astounded by the friendship, support and passion communities and individuals shared with me on my journey to raise awareness of the plastic pollution plaguing Vietnam’s coastlines.
In 2019 my beach cleaning movement went viral across the country and at the time we achieved the biggest beach clean in Asia in the tiny fishing town of Vinh Luong. It was then and there on the day I gave my emotional final speech after 10 days of sweat, toil and finally tears of joy my extended mission to bring awareness to protecting oceans was born!
Over these past 7 years I have toured countries by bicycle in East Africa, Indonesia and the UK bringing ocean education to schools and organising an insatiable amount of clean events! I then managed conservation outreach programs ranging from river trash barrier installations, mangrove reforestation events and coral restoration projects. I have created bitesize YouTube videos for OceanHero on topics ranging from Marine Protected Areas to Whale Sharks, Plastic Up-cycling and Sustainable Sea W**d Farming and the most simple and important thing I have learned over this time is that:
Humans, no matter what age they are, nationality, culture or interests are fascinated, curious, in awe and (though sometimes not explicit) value the natural world wholly. We just need better access to it and this is my updated mission today.
I am truly excited and full of ideas of how I can not only still raise awareness of the beauty, magic and bizarness of oceans but of wild places and spaces and indigenous and traditional lives too. I aim to create more content, host educational talks, events and bring people together to continue the great work that organisations like Gon Xanh, Education for Nature - Vietnam (ENV) have continued to do!
I can’t wait to resume this amazing WILD journey here in Vietnam and get more people amped about nature and create the next generation of explorers, adventurers and conservationists!
I will be updating my page and reaching out to more groups in the coming weeks here in Da Nang so if you are here and you have and Wildlife, people, or business connections I could shoot for my Youtube channel then please send me a DM or email [email protected]
🌊🐢 The hawksbill sea turtle is one of the most endangered creatures on our planet — yet in parts of Indonesia, their shells are still being sold and worn as “tortoiseshell” fashion.
In my latest video, I uncover the dark reality of this illegal trade and highlight the inspiring work of a local organisation that’s fighting back — not with punishment, but with education. By teaching communities and young people about the beauty and importance of hawksbills, they’re changing minds and protecting these ancient ocean wanderers.
Thank you to Turtle Foundation for their tireless work protecting sea turtles!

Uncle WILD Update! 🧜🏽♂️
I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new volunteer position as Moken Narrative Ambassador at Mercy Ranong Foundation - a Moken NGO!
I’m so excited to do what I can to amplify the voices and stories of the Moken community (like 17year-old Yadrak here) of Koh Lao, Thailand.
The Moken are sea nomads of the Andaman, whose unique knowledge of the ocean and traditions of resilience are increasingly under pressure from modern challenges.
Mercy Ranong works to support vulnerable communities across the Andaman coast with education, healthcare, and livelihood projects. My role is to ensure that the stories of the Moken are not only preserved but also shared with the wider world — bridging cultures through documentary storytelling, creative media, and education.
By weaving personal narratives with global issues, I aim to create empathy and connection, so that the Moken’s voices guide conversations about heritage, sustainability, and the future of our oceans.
🏃♂️ Half Marathon vs 100,000 Bubbler Crabs 🦀 — It’s man versus nature in one of the most unexpected races ever! As I try to run 21km along Thailand's stunning coastline, and an army of tiny bubbler crabs works to cover the beach in thousands of intricate sand balls before the tide returns.
Discover the fascinating world of these miniature “beach artists” — how they feed, why they make sand balls, and what happens when the ocean starts creeping back in. Will I finish my run before they finish their masterpiece?
5 Fun Facts about Bubbler Crabs
1. Nature’s Tiny Sand Sculptors – Bubbler crabs make perfect little sand balls by filtering out microscopic food, creating beautiful, accidental beach art.
2. Tide-Clock Workers – They only have a few hours between tides to feed and sculpt, then the waves wash everything away.
3. Built-in Shovels – Their front claws act like mini excavators, scooping up sand and sorting food from grit in seconds.
4. Micro Framers – By constantly turning over sand, they recycle nutrients, feed other wildlife, and help maintain the delicate balance of the shoreline.
5. Invisible at First – Their camouflaged shells blend so perfectly into the sand that you might walk right past thousands without seeing a single one.
