Cambridge B1 speaking : Describing a photo. This is a traditional Vietnamese meal. In the middle, you can see a big pot of hotpot, which is called “lẩu” in Vietnamese. The hotpot is filled with meat, fresh herbs like basil, and vegetables. It is served hot so people can enjoy it together.

Around the hotpot, there are many side dishes. There are fried chicken wings which look crispy and tasty. Next to them, there is a plate of braised meat, which seems juicy and flavorful. You can also see fresh vegetables like sliced cucumbers, and different kinds of greens such as water spinach and shredded banana flower. These fresh vegetables are often eaten with the hotpot.

There are also plates of white rice noodles and a baguette, known as “bánh mì”. People can dip the noodles or bread into the hotpot broth to enjoy the rich flavors. Overall, this meal looks colorful, fresh, and perfect for sharing with family and friends.
