It Takes An Island

Stop by Barbara's Art courtyard for Emily's Creative Art Henna at Art Thursday tonight until 8pm.

Emily loves all kinds of art. I started with acrylic paintings, then started making jewelry, and my newest medium is henna.

Had a fun time with our homeschool gardening club called, "Island Sprouts", yesterday on a field trip visiting FarmPod on island which deals with aquaponics. They grow all kinds of delicious fruits and veggies.

My husband, Eric, started the group about a month ago and it has been great for the kids and parents.

This past year has held some challenges with schooling on island. However, most of our basics are the same since we homeschool but socializing and extra curricular activities have altered a lot. Instead of big homeschool get togethers, we now meet up with a family or two. Instead of art class at Barbara's Art Classes and Studio, Emily has started doing some outschool online classes here and there. As well as, working with new media and sizes of paintings. I had her do a painting on our patio table, she loves painting sugar mills. She also started a painting on the chicken coop door, while having an audience. I think Cookie the chicken is helping her.
