🎬✨ On Friday, the red carpet was rolled out at Caribbean Cinemas by Sunny Isle, St. Croix, to celebrate the incredible young local artists who came together to produce two powerful short films. These films aim to raise awareness about gun violence across the territory and inspire change in our community. 🌟💪

Last week our students learned about taking measurements in preparation to build benches! Special shout out to Mr. Adams who donated tape measures and taught great techniques to the students. At CFEG we are about teaching life skills that students will be able to use in the real world.

Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday! On this throwback Tuesday we are reflecting on last Thursday. We had a get together and fun hour with the students. The grill was fired up, and the food was rolling out with delicious food for everyone thanks to Ms. Knopp and family. We played a couple of rounds of 2 truths and a lie and had an amazing time. More fun activities to come!

The Center for Educational Growth will be having a water and treat sale this Thursday during the Uber Soca Cruise from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please come out and support us to help raise funds for our Senior class and other school activities. See you there!

On Tuesday, 11th and 12th graders attended their first college prep. counseling session with A UVI College Bound representative. Students were encouraged to attend so they could register for the National Standardized ACT and SAT tests.

The Center for Educational Growth students and teachers held an official in person welcome back yesterday. We were so happy to see all the student's smiling and bright faces and the beautiful facelift our campus has undergone. With each year we strive to get better! Have an amazing school year everyone.

We had much fun contributing to the minds of these future leaders. There was something incredibly special about this group of kids! We covered script writing, acting, filming, sound, lighting, what goes on behind the scenes and so much more! Today we remember. 176 years of freedom.

The students kicked off this week with intros and we will be getting more into how to begin writing a script! At the end of this project our campers will be able to put together a short film! We are excited to see the entire process unfold. Thank you to out partners Blue Tarp Productions - Films and CMCArts, Inc!!!

This week our program really came together as the students visited a production studio. They learned how they can make a business out of owning a studio, how to take headshots and took some of their own for castings. They also were able to meet someone who developed a career in acting and get some tips on how to loosen up before an audition or performance. Finally the students filmed their own original monologues that they wrote and produced. We are unbelievably proud of the work they’ve put in this far. Thank you Soundstage VI for having us.
