A raw look at Day 2 of the YSA 29er clinic.
Yesterday's focus was downwind speed, with Serena and Sage getting reps in, keeping the boat moving, and building confidence on the water. Clinics like this give our sailors valuable coaching, practice, and time in the boat.

29er clinic update from Chenay Bay. ⛵️
Clinic students taking a well-deserved lunch break after a strong morning on the water.
This 29er clinic is not just about speed and boat handling. It’s also about learning together, resetting between sessions, and building the kind of team energy that carries back onto the water.
Back at it after lunch.
YSA’s 3-day 29er clinic is underway this weekend. ⛵
Day 1 focused on upwind speed, with sailors getting in reps, dialing in technique, and building confidence in the boat.
Devon and Croix were looking strong on the first day, showing excellent upwind speed, teamwork, and control through the breeze.
Great start to a weekend full of learning, growth, and time on the water.
We made a quick stop at Green Cay… and apparently the pelicans immediately started evaluating the sailors as potential snacks. 🤣
Good news: everyone survived the inspection.
For now.

Quick reset between sessions!
Our Opti sailors took a quick pause to cool off, relax, and enjoy the water before getting back to work.
Long days on the water come with plenty of learning, but also moments like these that make the memories just as special.
Cause sailing makes us feel alive. Again and again. ⛵

Taking it international in France in April.
Serena Sheraw (helm) teamed up with UK sailor Thea Miller (crew) to compete in the French 29er Eurocup in Carnon, lining up against more than 130 teams from around the world.
The conditions were challenging, but exactly the kind of experience that helps teams grow by learning to adapt, communicate, and keep improving every race.
We're grateful for the guidance of coach Marcin Jozefowski and the opportunity to compete at this level.

From the boat park to the podium.
After a weekend of learning, adapting, and competing in Salinas, Sage Siverly and Serena Sheraw finished their Festival de Velas de Salinas campaign with a podium result in the 29er Class.
More than the finish, this trip was about growth, building light wind skills, gaining race experience, and continuing to raise the level of youth sailing from St. Croix.
Thank you again to coach Caroline Atwood, the organizers, and Jose Cacho Rivera for creating opportunities like this for Caribbean sailors.
Stony Brook Clinic Wrap-Up.
We asked Stony Brook coaches, Brian Elliot and Wally Henry, why they chose to come to St. Croix and work with STXYSA.
Their answers remind us that this week was about more than sailing. It was about mentorship, growth, connection, and helping young sailors believe in what they’re capable of.
We just wrapped up an incredible clinic, and we are so grateful for the time, knowledge, and energy Brian and Wally shared with our sailors.
Thank you for investing in STXYSA and our youth.
