Strong Winds, Strong Character: Anais Craig Demonstrates Outstanding Sportsmanship at CAC Games!

The first day of sailing for our ISCA sailors brought challenging conditions, with strong winds, gusts of 30 knots, and rough seas making for a demanding start to the 2026 CAC Games sailing competition.

During one of the races, Team ISV's Anais Craig demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship by putting safety first. After spotting another sailor in need of assistance, she sailed off course to alert a nearby media boat before continuing on to finish her race. Her quick thinking, selflessness, and commitment to the safety of a fellow competitor are a true reflection of the values of our sport.

Well done, Anais! We are proud of your excellent sportsmanship and the example you set both on and off the water.

We caught up with our USVI ISCA sailors before and after the opening day of racing at the 2026 CAC Games! Hear what their goals were heading into the first races, how they felt they performed, and what they're looking to improve on for day two.

Day one brought some rough conditions, with survival sailing at times as sailors battled heavy wind and challenging seas. The forecast looks much more favorable today, setting the stage for another exciting day of racing.

We’re excited for our USVI ISCA (Sunfish) sailors competing in the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo! Racing runs 8/1/2026 through 8/7/2026.

Representing the Virgin Islands in the ISCA class:
Anais Craig - Women’s 1-Person Regional Dinghy (ISCA)
Parker Nagle - Men’s 1-Person Regional Dinghy (ISCA)

They’ll be competing against talented sailors from across the region, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Colombia, Venezuela, Guatemala, El Salvador, Bahamas, Trinidad & Tobago, Antigua, and Aruba.

Look at those USVI ISCA Sailors go!!!! Both will be in the 2026 ISCA Youth World Championship this Fall in St. Croix!

The St. Croix Yacht Club wishes youth member Parker Nagle the very best of luck as he heads to the 2026 Central American & Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo next week to represent the Virgin Islands in the ISCA (Sunfish) class!

Parker will be competing alongside Anais Craig of St. John, who will represent the Team ISV in the women's ISCA fleet.
