Good news! The Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) is one of the largest gatherings of underrepresented minorities in STEM with close to 4,000 participants. Students attend this conference to present their research, enhance professional development skills, explore graduate schools, and network. With many exhibitors from over 250 representative institutions, students are able to gain access to a wide range of resources on their journey towards a scientific research career.
Due to concerns about the spread of COVID-19, the 2021 conference was held virtually from November 10th to 13th, 2021. Seven UVI undergraduate students submitted abstracts and were accepted to present ePosters. Two of those students emerged as winners with best poster awards. Details provided below. Congratulations to the students on their exceptional achievement. It is evidence of the high quality of academic experience and research training UVI students receive.
