Today’s objective was to provide a practical and engaging way for learners to continue developing their understanding of measurement and reading comprehension concepts by applying them in the context of making a native treat, "Johnny Cakes." Students learned about the science of melting and cooling wax, how fragrances and colors affect the final product, and the importance of safety precautions in handling hot wax. As week three, entitled Arts, Colors, and Kaleidoscope, ends, we incorporated an outdoor adventure to the St. Thomas Historical Trust Museum on Main Street. Students learned the history and culture of the Virgin Islands and how it's protected and preserved. Students are wearing their very own personalized tie-dye shirts they created.
Lastly, they indulged in fracos from Rudy's Fraco truck to cool them down on this hot summer day!

As week two, entitled STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math), ends, we incorporated an outdoor adventure to the Virgin Islands Port Authority Fire Station.
