Before the day ends, we want to wish all of our incredible IAVI moms a very Happy Mother’s Day! Thank you for the love, care, support, and encouragement you pour into our students each day. We truly appreciate all that you do!☺️

Each child took home a small papaya seedling from Gardening Class as a token of our love and appreciation. Thank you for helping us grow!🌱

We also happily shared some of the wonderful health benefits of papaya and encouraged our moms to plant their seedlings in their home gardens as a reminder of the power of papaya and the beauty of growing our own food.💪🏾

To all of our IAVI moms, thank you for helping us plant seeds not only in gardens, but in hearts. Your love helps our children bloom in beautiful ways, and for that, we are forever grateful!🥰

🚌📘Montessori on Wheels-MOW📘🚌

In March, Ms. Sharia attended The Montessori Event by the American Montessori Society in Washington, D.C., the largest Montessori conference on this side of the world, gathering over 4,000 Montessorians. Each year, she returns with something special for our students, but this year’s gift carried a story that truly moved us.

After briefly meeting Tatenda Blessing Muchiriri at last year’s conference in Colorado, she had the beautiful opportunity to reconnect with his work this year; purchasing and having him personally sign his inspiring book, Montessori on Wheels. This heartfelt children’s book tells the true story of a mobile Montessori classroom, an actual bus (affectionately called “Rungano”) that has been transformed into a vibrant learning space. Through beautiful illustrations and real-life photographs, the story captures how this bus travels into communities, bringing hands-on Montessori materials, curiosity, and opportunity directly to children… turning everyday stops into places of discovery!

When Ms. Sharia returned, she gathered the children and read the story aloud. The room was filled with wonder. You could see their imaginations come alive as they realized that learning doesn’t have to stay in one place… it can move, reach, and meet people wherever they are.

Tatenda, thank you for your vision, your heart and your commitment to making education accessible in such a meaningful way. Your story is traveling far beyond wheels. It reached the shores of the British Virgin Islands, and our students absolutely love it!😊❤️🇻🇬

Today, we pause not just to celebrate an achievement, but to honour a journey; one marked by vision, sacrifice, discipline and unwavering purpose. Please join us in extending our heartfelt congratulations to our Founder and Principal, Ms. Sharia, on earning her Master’s Degree in Montessori Leadership with a 4.0 GPA and recommendations to publish her writings!

This milestone is more than a personal accomplishment. It is a powerful investment in the future of Imagination Academy VI and in the reimagining of education across the Virgin Islands. To lead a school is no small task. To build one, nurture it, and carry its vision daily requires a level of commitment that often goes unseen.

And yet, in the midst of it all, she chose to stretch, to grow, to go deeper. She chose to learn, not just for herself, but for every child, every teacher, every family connected to this community. She embodies what it means to be a lifelong learner, showing our students in real time that growth never stops, that excellence is a journey, and that purpose is something we pursue with intention.

Ms. Sharia, we are incredibly proud of you! We celebrate you! We honour you! And we thank you for leading with courage, conviction and love! Congratulations on this remarkable achievement‼️🤩👏🏾🎓🥳

🐸📚WHO LET THE FROGS OUT?!📚🐸

Our frogs were definitely out of the cistern this morning, and what a joy it was!🤩

We had an amazing time at the Early Childhood Book Parade hosted by the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports. From tiny marching feet to big, bright smiles, it was a beautiful celebration of reading, imagination and community!📖

But let’s talk about our frogs… because it was a full on frog party! We were thrilled to highlight local author Deidre Potter and her book Frogs in the Cistern, which our children brought to life with so much creativity and excitement!😃

A heartfelt thank you to our parents, grandparents, aunties, siblings… everyone who came out to support and make this moment so special! This is learning at Imagination Academy VI. Alive. Joyful. Creative. Rooted in culture!🇻🇬💚🐸📚

More eggplants are coming!📣👀

Eggplants here, eggplants there… eggplants growing everywhere! Look with care and take your time… how many eggplants can you spy?😅👀 🍆🌱

A tomato harvest turned into a math lesson led by a four year old.🤩🍅

At Imagination Academy VI, everything is a learning opportunity. Once the tomatoes were picked, we did what naturally comes next. We counted them, first one by one. Then something beautiful happened. Kai paused and said he wanted to count in threes. And guess what? He did it! He skip counted by threes all the way to 39!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Right there, counting tomatoes, his mathematical mind was at work. Not because of a worksheet. Not because someone told him to. But because real learning invites curiosity. We had two batches, one another child had already counted. There were 36 tomatoes in that one. He noticed the difference immediately. “This one bigger than that one,” he said, recognizing quantity, comparison and value with quiet confidence. Then I gave him a challenge: How many altogether? I wish we had caught that part on camera too!😬

This four year old sat, thinking deeply. No fingers. No paper. Just his mind. He worked it through and said, “Seventy four.” The actual total was seventy five. Off by one… but infinitely right in process. Because this is what matters most. The courage to think. The willingness to try. The construction of a mathematical mind grounded in real, meaningful experience!😍

Math is not confined to pencil and paper. Math is in the harvest. Math is in the hands. Math is in the moment a child realizes, I can figure this out. This is what learning looks like at Imagination Academy VI. This is how we grow, not just tomatoes, but mathematicians too!🥰🌱

We love our school garden so much! Today it showed us just how much love grows when you plant with care. Our students harvested 75 beautiful, locally grown tomatoes and we’ve packed them into 8 fresh bags, ready to share with our community.

For this special pre-Valentine’s Day garden sale, we have:

📞 Ring ring… Hello? Ohhh… it’s the kitchen calling! And trust us, when the kitchen calls, our eggplants answer!🍆😅

For everyone asking if the eggplants are for sale, we love the excitement! But those beauties we posted yesterday? They’re long gone! Harvested, sliced, seasoned, layered, baked and devoured!😋

Our high schoolers turned them into homemade eggplant Parmesan in their Food, Nutrition & Health class with Ms. Michelle, and let’s just say, it was giving 5 star, garden to table greatness! From harvesting in our school garden, to chopping and sautéing… This wasn’t just cooking. This was learning you can taste!👩🏽‍🍳👨🏽‍🍳

There is something powerful about children eating what they grow. About understanding the journey from soil to stove. About holding a heavy eggplant like a telephone one day… and transforming it into a masterpiece the next. Our 7th graders are not just studying Food, Nutrition & Health. They are living it! They are measuring, collaborating, plating, seasoning, laughing… and building confidence with every dish!🤩

This was just a little sneak peek into our high school classroom. Next harvest? Maybe we’ll talk sales! But for now, we’re just over here raising top-notch chefs who understand the power of cooking and eating what you grow!😊

Would you try our eggplant Parmesan?👀🍆

Little hands, BIG Harvest!🍆😬

Guess what? We’ve been busy… busy growing!🌱🤩

While we’ve been a little quiet here, life at Imagination Academy VI has been anything but still. Our children have been learning, discovering and flourishing. And just like them, our garden has been growing too!☺️

Each harvest is a reminder of what happens when care, patience and purpose comes together. It’s a beautiful reflection of the growth happening every day in our classrooms.

Though we may have been missing in action, we’re back, and we can’t wait to take you along on this journey of learning, growth and imagination with us!

Stay tuned! There’s so much more to share!😃
