On Thursday, March 19, our entire BVISDA family—students, faculty, and support staff—jumped into the national tsunami drill! An exciting hands‑on experience and a powerful reminder of why preparedness matters. Proud of our community for showing up, staying sharp, and strengthening our evacuation plan together.

A few weeks ago, the Life Skills Club with Teacher Joseph carried out a fun and meaningful recycling activity using juice bottles collected from the children during the day around the school. The students washed the used bottles and creatively transformed them into beautiful flower vases. 🌸♻️ This hands-on project helped the children learn the importance of recycling while expressing their creativity and developing valuable life skills such as teamwork and responsibility.

🚌📚 Mobile Social Studies in Action!

Today, the Grade 2 class with Teacher Joseph took learning beyond the classroom during their mobile Social Studies lesson. They explored two exciting topics — Important Places in Our Communities and Historians and Historic Sites in the BVI.

The students enjoyed a tour of the city on the city shuttles, giving them the opportunity to observe and experience their surroundings in a meaningful, real-world way. They visited Noel Lloyd Park, the sculpture of Isaac Fonseca at the House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands, gaining firsthand knowledge of the history and individuals who have helped shape the Virgin Islands.

An experience that help them build deeper understanding by connecting what they learn in books to what they can see, touch, and explore within their own community.

Thank you to the parents for their continued support and encouragement, and special thanks to the Ministry of Infrastructure for helping to make this lesson possible.
