A year of inclusion, awareness, and action at Cedar. 💚
As we close the 2025–26 school year, we are proud to reflect on the cultural celebrations, health and disability awareness initiatives, and global observances that helped students deepen their understanding of identity, empathy, representation, community responsibility, and what it means to build an inclusive school community.
This year’s DEI calendar created meaningful opportunities for students and staff to engage with diverse perspectives, increase awareness, celebrate belonging, and take action together.
A special thank you to our DEI Coordinator, staff, students, families, community partners, and DEI Student Representatives for helping bring these initiatives to life. Their reflections will help guide continued growth and planning for the 2026–27 school year.
At Cedar, our commitment to diversity and inclusivity is part of how we continue building a school culture where every student feels valued and empowered to contribute. 🌍

Our MYP 5 and DP1 students helped bring Spanish language learning into our daily lives at Cedar by creating signs now displayed around campus.
We love seeing these new additions around Cedar, reminding our community that learning a second language is not only about vocabulary and grammar, but also about communication, cultural awareness, and building confidence through regular practice.
Thank you to our Spanish Language Acquisition teacher, Profe Wendy, for guiding our students through this initiative.

As part of Cedar’s annual Experiential Learning Week, students had the opportunity to choose from a range of travel and learning experiences designed to take their education beyond the classroom.
For students on the 2026 University Tour, that meant visiting universities in person and gaining a meaningful window into university life.
The group visited Georgetown University, Howard University, George Washington University, New York University, Barnard College, and Columbia University, experiencing a range of environments from HBCUs and Ivy League institutions to liberal arts, research, and urban campuses.
Along the way, they travelled from Washington, D.C. to New York City, explored iconic landmarks, enjoyed cultural experiences, and began imagining the many pathways available to them after Cedar.
As part of our Secondary programming, the University Tour helps students plan for their futures with confidence. Through Cedar’s internationally accredited IB programmes and direct pathways to universities around the world, students are prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.
A heartfelt thank you to our University advisor and secondary team for leading a meaningful week of exploration, possibility, and future planning. 💚

Thank you to Conyers for their generous $25,000 annual donation in support of Cedar’s Need-Based Scholarship Programme.
It was a pleasure to welcome Tamara Singh, Finance Manager for Conyers’ BVI office, to Cedar as she presented the cheque to our School Director, Scott Crawford.
As a nonprofit school, Cedar relies on the generosity of community partners to help more families access our internationally accredited programmes, including a global IB education with a direct pathway to university.
Cedar’s Need-Based Scholarship Programme supports students who qualify for financial support, and we are grateful to Conyers, Maples, Tovel, Digicel, Caribbean Insurers, the Swedish Scholarship Foundation, and Unite BVI for their continued support of Cedar students.

Our DP1 students recently presented their Theory of Knowledge Exhibition, an important component of the IB Diploma Programme Core and part of their TOK Internal Assessment.
Through carefully selected real-world objects, students explored thought-provoking questions about knowledge, truth, evidence, and perspective.
Their presentations invited the Cedar community to reflect on how we know what we know and how different contexts shape our understanding of the world.
The exhibition provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to think critically, communicate confidently, and engage with complex ideas in meaningful ways.
Well done to our DP1 students and their teacher for guiding this critical learning experience. 💚

We were so proud to gather with our students and teachers on the land where the Cedar Arts Centre will be built. It was such a memorable moment sharing this milestone with the heart of our school💚🥳

Our PYP3 students transformed their Unit of Inquiry into a full-day Marketplace, turning classroom learning into real-world action.
First, they became researchers and designers. Then they created and tested their products, developed their teams, marketed to others, and welcomed the Cedar community to shop and explore. 💚🛍️
With tasty lemonade, sweet treats, trading tables, games, LEGO creations, and creative products made from recycled materials, the Marketplace was full of imagination, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit.
Our young learners also chose to donate their earnings to the BVI Humane Society and PAWS. 🐾
A special thank you to our PYP3 teachers and parent helpers for making this meaningful learning experience possible.

After our Arts Centre Groundbreaking Ceremony, we hosted a reception to celebrate this exciting milestone.
The highlight of the evening was music from our very own student, teacher, and community musicians. Their performances gave us a glimpse of what the Cedar Arts Centre will make possible.💚🥳
We are building a creative home for the skills, talents, and cultural expression that already exist within Cedar and our Virgin Islands community.
A special thank you to our Music Department for their continued leadership in nurturing and inspiring our student musicians.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Cedar Arts Centre Groundbreaking Ceremony as we officially broke ground on our future home for creativity, culture, and community.
This project represents so much more than a building. It is a space for students to create, perform, collaborate and grow. A creative hub where the wider Virgin Islands community can continue to connect through the arts.
We are deeply grateful to our Board, leadership, faculty, staff, donors, families, students, and community partners for helping bring this vision to life.
Special thanks and for capturing this milestone 📸
