A partnership between parents and teachers can make a student’s education more meaningful. Yesterday, CWPPS had its first virtual Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC). The virtual PTC wasn’t just convenient and efficient, but it was successful and effective.

Parents/Guardians commended teachers on a job well done in online teaching. The following are a few of the lovely comments we received.

“Thank you very much for the hard work you put into these children.”

“Thank you teachers who have been dedicated to helping not just my son and but other children.”

“You all are doing a fantastic job.”

“You guys are doing a really good job.”

Thank you, parents/guardians for your support and words of encouragement. This means a great deal to us.

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The 2020-2021 school year is unlike any other that we have experienced. Students are learning at home and you are playing supporting roles. The upcoming Parent-Teacher Conference (PTC) is an important opportunity for teachers to hear from you about how your student is doing academically, socially, and emotionally.

The PTC is also an opportunity for teachers to provide you with feedback about your child’s academic and social-emotional progress, and what you can do to support your child. If your child is having trouble, you and your child’s teacher can figure out an action plan.

Teachers will provide a conference schedule for you and your child to attend. The PTC will be held on Microsoft Teams in your child’s class in the “General” channel on Wednesday 10th March, 2021.

The PTC is an opportunity for you to speak with your children about their experience with online learning, and share their questions and concerns with their teacher. You can prepare a list of questions you have, and topics that you want to discuss with the teacher. Include things that might help them understand your child’s challenges, strengths, and interests.

School doesn't have to be in a building. Furthermore, learning is not confined to the walls of the classroom. Every day is a chance to learn anywhere.

At CWPPS, we are connected at any distance and we are learning together though we're apart. Our teachers integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum and demonstrate daily that e-learning is exciting.

Here are a few of our classes engaged in "online school". It is our hope that you will share in our excitement. Feel free to share this post.

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Many of our students have informed us that they have a device (tablet, phone, laptop) at home. Therefore, we are making a final appeal to you to have Microsoft Teams downloaded on them and to have our students logged on. Our teachers have been putting reminders, videos on topics to be covered or covered, and other little notes on Teams for our students and we want them to be able to manipulate Teams.
Kindly allow your son, daughter, or ward to bring along his or her device on the following dates:

Kindergarten and Grade 1 - Wednesday 7th October, 2020

Grades 2, 3, and 4 - Thursday 8th October, 2020

Grades 5 and 6 - Friday 9th October, 2020

Furthermore, for those already logged on remind them not to log out or delete teams.

Thank you for your kind consideration.

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are seeking your co-operation as we try to reach all our students during this critical time. Our teachers are working overtime to ensure we deliver quality instruction to our students. We are kindly asking that you continue to encourage our students to be independent. Support them but please allow them to be the ones to ask their teachers for help or to answer questions during instruction.

Furthermore, some of our parents/guardians and students have been starting the class sessions before the scheduled time. Some are even creating their own meetings. Parents/Guardians, students PLEASE DO NOT start classes as this creates problems for teachers and other students. Only our TEACHERS can start a session. We value your involvement and support but let us help each other to create the best experience for our students.

Thanking you for your kind consideration.
