EHSM The Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamia was founded by Dr. John Parmenus Eustace, affectionately known as Doc, in May, 1963.

The Mission Statement of the Emmanuel High School, Mesopotamia:

Emmanuel High School exists to help students prepare for a productive, rewarding and enjoyable life of service in the home, the community, the nation, and the world.

'Emmanuel' hopes to achieve its objectives by providing an environment where students are motivated to develop academically, physically, spiritually, and socially throu

gh: A course of study in the arts, sciences humanities, technical and physical education; daily devotional time relating to the study and application of biblical principles; and a variety of opportunities for the development of personal relationships that will enrich life. Fondly known by many as “the mathematician,” Mr. Marcus Caine has dedicated his life to education, mentorship, and the advancement of mathematics, assisting hundreds of students and professionals throughout his distinguished career.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Caine recalls a time when many students viewed primary school as the final stage of their education. He, too, accepted that reality until he successfully passed the EHSM Entrance Examination and earned a scholarship—an opportunity that changed the course of his life.

He remains deeply grateful to Dr. J. P. Eustace, whose vision created educational opportunities for young people from rural communities, and to Mrs. Grace Eustace, who ignited his passion for mathematics. Under her guidance, he transformed from a student who once scored 18% in mathematics into an accomplished mathematician, educator, and mentor.

Mr. Caine holds a BSc in Mathematics and Physics and an MSc in Mathematics and Statistics. His distinguished career includes serving as Instructor of Biostatistics at Trinity Medical School, Former Chief Examiner for CXC, Former Interim Director of SVGCC, Former Assessment Director in the Ministry of Education, Pioneer Dean of the Community College, and currently Chairman of the EHSM Board of Directors.

As EHSM celebrates 63 years of educational excellence, we proudly salute Mr. Caine for his outstanding achievements, lifelong service to education, and the countless lives he has impacted through the power of learning.

For Roy Lewis, Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia was more than a school—it was a second chance.

After failing the School Leaving Examination, Roy found himself discouraged and uncertain about his future. Through the intervention of his father and the generosity of Dr. J. P. Eustace, he was given an opportunity to attend the newly established Emmanuel High School in 1963 as part of its inaugural class.

That opportunity changed the trajectory of his life. Roy went on to become a pharmacist and remains deeply grateful to Dr. J. P. Eustace for taking a chance on him when others may not have. He credits that opportunity with opening doors that shaped his future and placed him on a path to success.

Reflecting on his years at EHSM, Roy recalls the dedicated teachers who helped shape his life, particularly Mr. R. Theodore L. V. Browne and Miss Grace Eustace. Mr. Browne became a mentor and friend, spending countless hours encouraging him to read, write, and pursue excellence.

He credits Mr. Browne with strengthening his confidence, expanding his vocabulary, introducing him to books and the library, and inspiring a lifelong love of learning. Miss Grace Eustace also played a pivotal role, patiently helping him improve his mathematics skills and introducing him to volleyball, a sport in which he later excelled.

Roy also remembers Dr. J. P. Eustace not only as an educator and visionary but as a spiritual leader whose influence extended beyond the classroom. Through his guidance, Roy embraced the Christian faith and experienced the personal care and encouragement that defined the EHSM family.

Today, Roy Lewis remains grateful for the opportunity he was given and for the teachers who saw potential in him when he could not yet see it in himself. His story is a testament to the transformative power of education, mentorship, and believing in the potential of every child.

Mr. R. Theodore L.V. Browne, Barrister-at-Law, and Mrs. Grace Eustace were the only teachers entrusted with the inaugural class of Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia in 1963. Together, they laid the educational foundation upon which the school continues to build today, shaping generations of students through their dedication, vision, and commitment to excellence.

A past student and former teacher of Emmanuel High School, Kingstown - now known as J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary School. Mr. Browne is remembered for his high standards and devotion to his students. Former student Roy Lewis recalls one of his guiding principles: “Never shallow, always thorough.”

Mr. Browne remains a strong advocate for preserving the legacy of Dr. J. P. Eustace, to whom he attributes the creation of educational opportunities for young people and communities at a time when such opportunities were limited. Their collective contributions helped establish the culture of excellence that continues to define EHSM today. -mention

Today, we proudly celebrate Mr. Jimmie Forde, Chief Executive Officer and one of the region’s most successful executives, who continues to acknowledge Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia as the “foundation of his being” and a major part of his success in the business arena.
Mr. Forde fondly reflects on his alma mater, especially his treasured memories of Mrs. Grace Eustace. To him, she was more than a teacher. She was a mentor, coach, counsellor, and guiding force who knew how to support students in every area of life.

Although he left EHSM with four CSEC subjects, his drive, motivation, and competitive spirit pushed him to achieve great success, including postgraduate studies at Harvard University. His journey reminds students that it is not where you start, but what you do with the opportunities given to you. He encourages today’s students not to discount EHSM in any way and reminds them that school life should be balanced, with equal attention given to academics, sports, clubs, and other activities that help build character, confidence, and leadership skills. He firmly believes that EHSM is one of the very best schools in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

As EHSM celebrates another anniversary, Mr. Forde proudly honours the lasting legacy of Dr. John P. Eustace and Mrs. Grace Eustace, whose vision and dedication significantly changed the lives of many students. He remains proud that his alma mater has produced some of the most outstanding citizens of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Leadership, service, and entrepreneurship have been hallmarks of the life and career of Mr. Murray Bullock, a proud member of Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia’s Class of 1977.

Looking back on his years at EHSM, Mr. Bullock describes the school as more than a place of learning. It was a community that helped shape his character, discipline, ambitions, and values. He fondly remembers participating in school activities, building lifelong friendships, and experiencing a strong sense of unity that encouraged students to strive for excellence.
He thanks the dedicated teachers of EHSM for inspiring him to work hard and remain focused on his goals. He also remembers Mrs. Grace Eustace for her kindness, encouragement, and genuine commitment to students. Reflecting on the legacy of Dr. John P. Eustace, Mr. Bullock notes that his vision and leadership transformed countless lives and demonstrated the power of education in nation-building.

Mr. Bullock’s professional and community contributions span several decades. His leadership roles have included Manager of a children’s wear factory in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Chairman of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Chairman of WINLOTT/WINLOT Inc., President of the National Development Foundation (NDF), and Member of the Board of Trustees of Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia. He has also played an active role in diaspora and national development initiatives.
An accomplished entrepreneur, Mr. Bullock is the founder of Linmur, Eat Rite Restaurant, and Murray Heights Hotel, and co-founder of Sky Lounge Restaurant & Bar. Through his business ventures and community involvement, he has contributed to economic development while creating opportunities for others.

A former teacher at Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia for over 20 years and later Principal of Adelphi Secondary School and J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary School, Mr. Joseph continues to inspire as Pastor of Streams of Power Church in Sans Souci.

Few careers reflect the spirit of service and leadership quite like that of Mr. Alwyn Joseph, a distinguished member of the EHSM Class of 1982.

An educator, pastor, and community leader, Mr. Joseph devoted more than 20 years to teaching at Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia before serving as Principal of Adelphi Secondary School and J.P. Eustace Memorial Secondary School from 2010 to 2015.

His pursuit of excellence in education and personal development has earned him an impressive list of qualifications, including an M.Sc., M.A. in Pastoral Counselling Theology (LU), B.Ed. (UWI), MBA, B.Sc., and certificates in Teacher Education, Information Technology, and Computer Technologies.

Today, he continues to impact lives as Pastor of Streams of Power Church in Sans Souci and through his work as a videographer.

Today, we proudly recognise Station Sergeant Nigel John a dedicated law enforcement professional whose career reflects leadership, service, and a commitment to continuous development.

Since enlisting in the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force in 2000, Station Sergeant John has pursued extensive training in police leadership, community policing, crime scene investigation, narcotics management, psychological first aid, electronic interviewing, and border security operations. His professional development includes a Diploma in Police Leadership and several specialized regional and international certifications.

Reflecting on his time at Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia, Nigel recalls that EHSM catered to students from diverse social and economic backgrounds. He credits the guidance of his teachers, especially Mr. Clarke, who encouraged students to identify their talents and pursue them passionately, whether in academics, sports, or culture. A lesson that has stayed with him throughout his life is Mr. Clarke’s reminder that education is the key to independence and personal growth.

Over more than two decades of service, Station Sergeant John has demonstrated the discipline, integrity, and perseverance that EHSM strives to instill in its students. His achievements serve as an inspiration to current students and a testament to the value of hard work, lifelong learning, and dedication to public service.

Ms. Sadieca J. George is a distinguished healthcare leader, a devoted believer in God, and a proud mother of three (one daughter and two sons). Her life stands as a testament to dedication, continuous learning, and purposeful service.

Sadieca’s professional journey began at Emmanuel High School Mesopotamia (EHSM), where she graduated with the Class of 1995. Driven by a passion for nursing, she progressively advanced through the ranks as a Registered Nursing Assistant, Registered Nurse, and Certified Midwife.

Committed to excellence, she earned a BSc in Nursing from the University of Technology, Jamaica, a Certificate in Leadership and Management from the University of Washington, and an MSc in Nursing Administration from the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. Today, Ms. George serves as the Ward Manager at the Continuous Quality Improvement Department within the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where she works to elevate healthcare standards and mentor future medical professionals.

“It has been a true honor to attend such an esteemed institution. EHSM was not just a school; it was a solid foundation built on lasting friendships, vital life lessons, and true examples of mentorship.

I was blessed with exceptional teachers who helped shape the person I am today. I want to extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Elliot Diamond, Brian Burke, Mrs. Eleen Hill, Allan Burnett, Chiefton Charles, Curtis Greaves, Rodrique Joseph, Allan Joseph, and the many others whose names escape me but whose impact remains.
