The backhand flick is a popular weapon now used by many high-level players in the game. The common error I see being made is overuse of this stroke. A back and flick is mostly used on a slower ball from Cross court or a straight D**K that sits up and is within reach.
The mistake I see being made is players trying to flick Gabel that is either travel too fast or below the net line. When the ball is below net level, this is where you use the second type of backhand in this video.
The back and roll is a brushing motion giving you the ability to lift the ball over the net while still adding topping
