Kingstown Anglican School

The original Kingstown Anglican Primary School buildings were constructed in 1895. There are no definitive records of when the school was first opened but the earliest records of the school are from the 1920's.

Where was it located?

The school was located in the heart of Kingstown on land space 136 feet x 75 feet bordered by Higginson Street and Long Lane Lower. The lower part contained the Infant School with classes then referred to as Primer One and Primer Two while the upper floor housed the Primary School containing Juniors and Seniors then called Standards. In 1923 due to the increase in pupil population, arrangements were made with the Manager to build a shed in the yard to ease the congestion. In later years the shed was turned into an adjacent wing.
