Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive ❤️📚

Just $250USD can provide a full month of nutritious school lunches for 100 students at the Paget Farm Government School through The Grenadines Initiative. Together, we can make a lasting impact one meal at a time. 🍽️✨

The Grenadines Initiative is proud to share the successful launch of the Pilot Food Program at Paget Farm Government School, an initiative rooted in care, compassion, and the belief that no child should struggle to learn on an empty stomach.

Good nutrition is about far more than food alone. It affects a child’s ability to focus, grow, participate, and feel confident in the classroom. A nourished child is better able to learn, dream, and thrive. For some families, however, providing consistent meals can be challenging, and that burden is often carried quietly.

This program was created with those realities in mind.

Through the support of dedicated community members and partners, essential resources were put in place to help strengthen the school’s ability to support its students. While this may seem like a simple gesture to some, its impact reaches much deeper. Sometimes the smallest acts of care can make the biggest difference in a child’s day, offering comfort, dignity, encouragement, and hope.

The Grenadines Initiative extends heartfelt gratitude to Action Bequia, and everyone who helped make this launch possible. Your kindness and willingness to give back remind us that community is not just about living near one another, but about showing up for each other when it matters most.

When we invest in our children, we invest in the future of the Grenadines. Every child deserves the chance to learn with a full heart, a clear mind, and the knowledge that their community cares for them.

This is only the beginning.✨

Behind every warm lunch served with love is someone who truly cares ❤️

A special thank you to Miss Primus for the dedication, kindness, and heart you pour into preparing meals for the school children each day. From the early mornings to the final plate served, your hard work never goes unnoticed. 👩🏽‍🍳✨
Your lunches are not only nutritious and filling, but always made with that extra touch of love that makes them truly special. The smiles, happy tummies, and energy these children carry throughout the day are all part of the impact you make daily. 🍲💛

Thank you, Miss P, for nurturing our children one meal at a time. Your care means more than words can express. 🙏🏽💫

The Grenadines Initiative funds the extended pre-school program, under the watchful eye of Miss Glynis and her wonderful staff, at Glenn’s Pre-school. ✨

This enables working mothers and student mothers to be able to leave their little ones in pre-school until they can come pick them up later in the day.

Glen’s Preschool Extended Hours Program Making a Positive Impact

Since the introduction of the extended hours program at Glen’s Preschool, both children and their families have been experiencing meaningful benefits. Designed to support working parents while enriching the children’s daily experience, the program is already showing clear signs of success.

One of the most noticeable changes has been in the children themselves. According to staff, the children are now more settled and relaxed, transitioning directly from school to home rather than moving between multiple locations. This consistency has contributed to improved behavior and a greater sense of stability.

Currently, 30 families are benefiting from the program, with parents expressing deep appreciation for the support it provides. For many, the extended hours have eliminated the added financial burden of babysitting, offering both economic relief and peace of mind. Parents feel reassured knowing their children are in a safe, trusted environment until they finish work each day.

The additional time spent at the preschool has also created opportunities for stronger learning outcomes. Teachers are able to give more attention to students who need extra help, while also fostering social development. Staff have observed that children are becoming more sociable, outgoing, and confident, alongside improvements in their academic progress.

To keep the children engaged, the teacher organizes them into various groups and activities, ensuring that their time after school remains both educational and enjoyable. This structured approach allows for a balance of learning and play, tailored to different needs and interests.

Feedback from parents has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing gratitude for the program’s impact on their daily lives.

Overall, Glen’s Preschool extended hours program is not only meeting its goals but exceeding expectations. By supporting families and nurturing children in a safe, engaging environment, it is making a lasting difference in the community

Throwback Thursday, to when the Grenadines Initiative was called the Bequia Mission. 🥰

Here we are delivering food hampers to seniors in 2011. 🥳

Colin shared an important reminder during our Healing Together sessions: Mental health is more serious than many people realise, and small communities such as Bequia are no exception.

We are actively working to create safe spaces where members of the community can connect, share, and listen to one another while having access to psychosocial tools and support.💚

Healing Together is an initiative of The Hub Collective Inc., supported by the Government of Canada through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
